day 2402 – onezo rose

i taught through the whole taekwondo shift plus poomsae training and didn’t once get to sit down. i was so tired i honestly didn’t even care for dinner. all i wanted to do was make it out to onezo on their last day of rose tapioca. first time trying onezo, first time trying rose pearls and first time making a special trip just to get a bubble tea. the rose with the grapefruit pulp gave it a unique sweet and sour taste. i drank that and passed out before eleven o’clock hit

day 2161 – smoked salmon pinwheel

the best thing about coming home late is still having homemade food by my mom. these smoked salmon tortilla wrapped pinwheels taste is unmatched because it’s made with so much care. no matter what time of the day, my mom will gladly prepare food for me and make sure i don’t starve. i played up a big appetite after returning home from my sports activities and ate all of that

day 1988 – lobster fest

our last visit to tnt was only forty eight hours ago, but the flightclub crew is back again for more. we were so set on a post training lobster fest because we really wanted to pick our own fresh seafood and have the cafeteria chef cook it before us. i chose the black bean sauce for my lobster which was pretty yummy. on top of that, i also had some hot cooked food namely broccoli and honey garlic spare ribs. my whole meal came out to twenty five dollars which is a decently priced for a seafood meal

day 1971 – fried chicken

img_20200130_2039418665489946250221874.jpgit’s crazy to say that it’s my first time eating fried chicken since highschool. i normally refrain from fried foods; i made an exception today not only because it is the holiday week, but also because i’ve never tasted the korean fried chicken everyone boasts about. it tasted delicious as expected, and the crunchiness between my teeth was also to a high level of satisfaction. i don’t know when i’ll have it again, so i’ll savour every lasting flavour of the fried chicken dipped into the zesty sweet and sour sauce

day 1846 – uncle tetsu

i have no idea why my mom ended up at metrotown but it was a good coincidence. she brought home the highly sought after cheesecake along with honey madeleines from uncle tetsu. as soon as she sent me a message with a picture of the goods, i knew i was in for a treat when i get home from my hockey game. jabba da puck didn’t bring home the victory to force game three, but it was a good run for the cup. it was still a good spring season and being finalist isn’t too shabby

day 1429 – cherry imports

img_20200204_1531172409260874753265877.jpgi’m happy but not surprised when i saw giant boxes in my kitchen. this is the time of the year when my dad orders ten pounds of cherries from coworker who owns a farm in okanagan. normally i would eat cherries as meal replacements, but it as big and sweet as other years since the peak season is delayed this year. it will get finished nonetheless and then he’ll order another batch

day 1408 – set lunch

img_20200203_1545135721863632268455186.jpgmissed the vendor lunch and learn because conference call takes precedence. they saved the extra catered set lunch for me after their lecture. the question is why am i staring at the pretzel bun chicken burger past 1pm and have no appetite?? it wasn’t going to eat itself so i proceeded to take a few bites. what i managed to put in my mouth tasted good, but i only made it through the carrots and half the bun before i gave up

30 share it [twenty two]

stepping foot in tong’s kitchen to prepare for tomorrow’s party. this is not a familiar territory for me since i only cook the primary things to fuel my body, but i might turn out to be an iron chef after this holiday season. the requirement for this recipe is we must create our dish from scratch; darn i can’t have my fruit platter. although i haven’t taste tested until party time, my deviled eggs look really yummy

day 331 – cherry season

image

i would know when cherry season is in because this is how my fridge looks like during its peak season. this is what my dad stocks in the fridge after realizing how much i like cherries. these are the sweetest and freshest kelowna cherries from a private farm but not sure if i can eat them everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner

day 228 – malay

sitting back and enjoying a malaysian dinner with family after a day of teaching. everything was very delicious especially the skewers but there was nothing that wasn’t oily. i know my overly sensitive digestive system will be annoyed with me if i have it everyday so to stay on the good side
