day 2313 – cafe artisans

long talks and coffee kind of day on a cold sunday december afternoon. i can’t believe it’s already the start of december. i just couldn’t wait to turn the page past a horrendous november and move forward to a better december and an even brighter 2020 year ahead. by the time holiday rolls around, i hope to put the finger woes behind me and figure out much of the uncertainties surrounding my ankle

day 2285 – hotpot season

mom wanted to do hotpot at home tonight since everyone was present for dinner. i think she was indirectly hinting that i’m rarely home and she’s not wrong. normally, i wouldn’t be home so early if it wasn’t for my failing foot that trapped me indoors. lots of food on the table with a full selection of veggies and some meat slices. there’s also no shortage of tofu because i need my daily dose

day 2209 – ashl info night

the ashl season is coming up quicker than we know it and it’ll be up to me and my assistant captain to to get everyone else up to speed. this is nacho friend’s first season in ashl, so attending the team rep meeting was pertinent. i never knew the league was so big, even the women’s division had forty one teams. picked up the all important league rule book so now i have some reading to do. i’m hoping this will be a fun team and a fun season

day 2023 – snowy conditions

img_20200124_1515197028991500681863981.jpg

the road conditions are still pretty bad, but work responsibilities must go on after a snow day. continuing to drive my mom’s car since monday’s snow fall. the rav4 is ways better than my beemer in the snow, but it’s still skidding on the side streets. i just want the snow to stop so i can resume driving my own car and not feel bad for impeding on my mom’s work plans. though i don’t feel bad because my entire family has permission to work from home except

day 2021 – car scrapes

it was cold and snowy morning, but made it into the office with my mom’s rav4. i was surprised management let us off early since i’m at a company that forced me to risk going into the office to work even with a broken hand. i didn’t leave early since i had every intention to go flip. the conditions going home from richmond was not good at all. there up a bus and truck stuck on the off ramp of knight bridge which caused traffic to be backed up i’ll have to make a judgment call for work when i wake up tomorrow morning. winter has official arrived in vancouver

day 2020 – snowed in

img_20200124_1515122308577792114328599.jpg

had the luxury to sleep in until eleven, like what most people would do on sundays. i decided to skip powerskating because i’ve lacked sleep all week not to mention stiff from two hockey games. woke up and realized it was it was snowing outside. my plans of meeting with friends had to be canceled because it of the unsafe road conditions. i even had to miss out my workout and open gym flipping. i can only imagine what it’s like up on the mountain today

day 2013 – frozen pipes

shadow desperately needed a bath, but the outdoor pipes are frozen. i attempted to do a quick rinse anyway. i found filled a bucket with water, but that clearly didn’t work as planned every time i put water on to the car, it would immediately freeze and turn into ice. i’m afraid i won’t be able to give it a good wash until the weather warms up, which hopefully wouldn’t be too long of a wait

day 1981 – icebox

waking up at 6am was utterly difficult after sleeping in for so many. greeted by the ice cold office on the first day back at work. the heating system was doing the exact opposite of what it should be doing – bringing the outside cold air into the office. i was so cold my extremities were frozen and my brain refused to function. all i wanted to do was hover over my heater to stay sane. i felt utterly unproductive, but i guess a lot of others were on the same boat. i was told winter is coming

day 1951 – where’s summer

the weather just got cold in a hurry and i can’t stop myself from thinking back to the summer heat. the things that we could do outdoors without having to think about frozen face and fingers. i walk outside and feel the chills even when i layer up with puffy jackets with scarves. i simply don’t enjoy the cold weathers as much and the amount of layers i have to wear just to stay warm

day 1950 – gold medal card

dsc_9137-1-16266175725448859584.jpgi was convinced to buy the gold medal card in a heartbeat after seeing the deal steve nash had offered. it’s the season my skiing set and boarding gear comes out of its long hibernation. i’d like to hit the mountains a few times this winter season but i’ll see how packed my schedule comes out to be. it’s one of my many recreations that shall always be a part of my winter tradition
