day 730 – my bars

image

it’s exciting when my orders and packages keep coming in and this time it’s my much anticipated combat bars. with these stocked up in my drawer, i am ready for just about anything or so i would like to think. i could use a boost in training lately as there has been a lack of it. hope this restores my motivations and puts me back on track with the things i really need to do

twenties series: [fourteen] goals

image

everyone must have goals in life because goals are what drives us to improve every single day and what motivates us to strive for better. competition is often necessary because you get to see people around you and what is out there that is possible to strive towards. chances are someone out there is better than you and that’s when you realize all the room for potential growth and self improvement. a little competition amongst friends give you that extra boost and bring that competitive side out of you, but look no further because the point is to be better than yourself yesterday. wake up with determination and go to bed with satisfaction. no one is perfect, but every person have ever opportunity to make themselves a better and more well rounded person. for me personally, one of my biggest goal is to continue doing what i love and play the sports i can’t live without. with that being said, the biggest challenge for me is to stay healthy, minimize the injuries and get stronger. i want to continue to compete as much as i can and get as much competition exposure as possible before i call it quits. another goal is eating healthy and healthy clean. trying to regulate what i eat and get rid of the unnecessary junk out. feeling more determined than ever to set my goals and focus on achieving them every single day

day 402 – morning session

image

got out bright and early to fit hitting prior to a super long and busy day and also beat out others for the courts. these confederation courts are so popular and fill up fast during prime time. my knee gave me little trouble for the most part during the play, but that’s also due to my numerous tape jobs and braces that helps me keep things intact. i’d go the distance to make sure i get to play what i love

day 400 – need to fix

image

still in terrible discomfort and needing relief and adjustment is the current priority of my life. not understanding the cause behind all the complications and not long until i run out of patience trying to understand. someone help me do a knee replacement so i can happily continue living my life the way it should be. pain has been such a big part of my life, it is certainly a privilege to live pain free for one day. also noting that blogging my 400th day is quite an achievement

day 384 – my lunch

image

after lunch stroll near the water on a sunny day to get a quick breath of fresh air. thought i must move a bit to walk off the soreness but the more i walk the sorer i felt. lay low today and get much needed rest, having been physically overworked and majorly sleep deprived the past week

my journey at a glance

a look back at my taekwondo journey from the very beginning, snapshots capturing all the memories and special moments through it all. i am appreciative of all the people i have met along the way, the instructors and students who have shaped and built my character to make me the person i am today. i cherish very moment that i shared with fellow teammates and instructors and could never have asked for anything more. training for the nationals day in and day out, everyday for the entire month, early mornings and late nights was one of the highlights of this journey and i wouldn’t have it otherwise. i started my journey not knowing how far i would be able to go and where i would end up. little did i know i would make it to become a blackbelt with heart and soul, to be an instructor mentoring others, to have competed in numerous provincial competitions, to have competed at the grandest stage i could ask for – the nationals. injuries have plagued me throughout but i have yet to give up on a dream to be a better me. time after time my knee has disappointed me and i have ran out of possible reasons why it keeps failing me. all i want to do is get better and get back to it. i am proud of all the accomplishments and challenges overcomed to get to this point but i am not satisfied with letting go because there is so much more waiting for me. nothing beats getting healthy again and training with you all, for the next nationals and everything beyond. don’t take me away from this, don’t let this be the end, i am not ready to give up what i have fought for and what we have created

day 300 – deja vu

image

just as i thought my knee has turned the corner and fitted back in its groove, it pops back out of place. completely abused by my physio’s physical manipulation while he forcefully pushes it back into place. him at his best continually pushing my pain tolerance. restrictions order in effect that physical activity is not permitted and permission of activities must be granted. it’s also my 300th day post to date
