day 2013 – frozen pipes

shadow desperately needed a bath, but the outdoor pipes are frozen. i attempted to do a quick rinse anyway. i found filled a bucket with water, but that clearly didn’t work as planned every time i put water on to the car, it would immediately freeze and turn into ice. i’m afraid i won’t be able to give it a good wash until the weather warms up, which hopefully wouldn’t be too long of a wait

day 1951 – where’s summer

the weather just got cold in a hurry and i can’t stop myself from thinking back to the summer heat. the things that we could do outdoors without having to think about frozen face and fingers. i walk outside and feel the chills even when i layer up with puffy jackets with scarves. i simply don’t enjoy the cold weathers as much and the amount of layers i have to wear just to stay warm

day 1733 – double double headersĀ

never have i played four games in one day, two double headers on the menu today. first double header is 9am softball in this rainy condition. it was so nice to have a hot shower after being soaked from the rain and mucky gravel fields. by the time i made it to the fourth and final game of the day, my brain has already shut down and my legs no longer want to function. at the end of all the games, hung out with the guys to chow down on wings. i’ll have to reconsider another four game day

day 1698 – rainy runĀ

my first real long run in three years and quite possibly my first ever run in the rain. nailed the sunrun distance like i set out to do and pleased with the result. my legs were spent from the ten kilometre run, followed by five hour taekwondo shift and then some hockey. i could barely move halfway through the day and expect it to get worse tomorrow. i guess i didn’t exactly think it through before committing to all in one day, but that’s kind of how i roll. in the meantime, there’s lot of rolling to be done

day 1697 – shoe gallery

img_20200130_2326031405284642517212092.jpgas part of spring cleaning, i machined ashed some of my shoes thinking it could be fried since it’s nice out. who knew there would be sporadic callings of hail nearing the end of march. enough of the cold wintery weather, i’m ready for some nicer and warmer temperatures. i would like to get out more this spring and summer, especially more tennis and hiking than i managed last year

day 1421 – solstice begins

img_20200124_1548121129728737801462007.jpgon days like this being stuck indoor away from windows isn’t ideal. the weather looks to be good for the rest of the week with the start of summer season. temperature is on the rise and it’s just one of the reasons summer is my favourite, for it brings sunshine to my life. all the fun summer activities awaits. maybe this will brighten my mood and bring me to a better place

day 1283 – february snow

img_20200204_1709521360901277641209614.jpgthe forecast was correct and vancouver indeed got its february snowfall overnight. we were forewarned about the precipitation, but the city did nothing to prepare for this snowfall. there was no signs of salted roads nor trucks shovelling snow. as a result, the road conditions was much worse than it needed to be and more car accidents than there should have been. my hour drive home from richmond back to vancouver was full of skidding
