day 1057 – walking in rain

image

a walk in the drizzling rain got me a little wet, but left me feeling refreshed. when i am alone, i think and think until i overthink everything. i’ll always find something to think about even when there’s nothing to think about. sometimes life let’s you wander off to nowhere in particular and leave you hanging just so you can learn a little more about yourself and perhaps find yourself. i got my rest, i got my time off; it’s time to look for steps to do something that will lead me to what i my soul is searching for

solo series [day nine]

image

i had a full seven hours of undisrupted sleep which is by far the best night of sleep since i left vancouver. i like the b&b i am staying at; it’s a well equipped space with clean shower, butt washing heated toilet seats, big bed and a simple kitchen

after we figured out how to take the train, my parents and i were out and about in osaka. we started off at namba shopping streets where we bought a bunch of goods. i had my chance to try the famous japanese takoyaki, which i thought was okay. after lunch, we went straight for downtown area, umeda, to hit some sightseeing points which included malls and department stores

after all the steps taken throughout the day, i couldn’t walk anymore so i opted to stay back while my parents went out for dinner. i need to stay off my feet if i want to have a chance to walk and sightsee tomorrow. instead of going out for dinner, i was able to fit in a mini circuit which made me feel better

three more full days in japan before i head home. i know i should focus on japan first and worry about other things later but that doesn’t stop me from thinking of all the plans i have waiting for me once i get back

day 1018 – touring calgary

image

after our run at this year’s nationals, we are wandering the streets of downtown calgary. we saw snow and rain in the first three days in calgary, but glad our fourth day was a warm and sunny one. this trip was been leg intensive as if we didn’t spend enough time walking and standing on our feet at the championship, we decided to do more of that. spark science centre, calgary tower, chinatown, stephens avenue and the core shopping mall were amongst the many places we visited. it was a good trip with teambonding time, but we’re all burnt out. i was ready to head home to see mo, but it won’t be long before i fly off again

day 966 – random sights

image

a random sighting during my random adventures just because it was sunny out. nothing really special about this apple, but i just like the way it fans out. it fits well into its context and the environment it lives within. wandering around town without purpose or intention can sometimes lead to cool findings. i wouldn’t mind more excursions like this and only when i can afford to do that, would life be made simple and carefree

day 834 – i like climbing

image

wandering around false creek on this off day doing what i like to do, climbing things and breaking rules. yes, there’s a sign that says please do not climb, but sometimes it’s worth pushing boundaries. spending remembrance day going about some adventures, then also being proactive and completing a circuit before the day’s end. everything i accomplished felt like a very fulfilling day to me and i really do wish i could have more days where i feel this way

day 464 – out and about

image

when it’s been pouring with temperature drops drastically, every sign signals autumn has arrived. i hate to see summer leave vancouver because the weather is about to get miserable around here. it’s cold outside but as long as it’s not raining i can be outside wandering around. never realized there were railway tracks from downtown looking towards gastown, interesting gems i find through my walking adventures

day 288 – t dot

image

paying cn tower and rogers centre a visit at night time because it just would not feel like a complete toronto trip without having this iconic picture somewhere. wish i had the time to catch a live bluejays game and it’s a pity the raptors got eliminated early in post season before i got a chance to watch an nba playoff game. it was a disappointing post season especially when they had such a good run in regular season

day 219 – early morning

image

in downtown bright and early for an important meeting on a sunny friday morning. surprisingly didn’t get lost making my way around downtown, it’s not a place i particularly like to be wandering in. time is flying right before our eyes, the week went by really fast and another weekend is on the horizon again. sometimes time needs to slow down because its scary to see that its already the third month into the year

day 12 – spotted

image

had to take a picture of this shiny purple car with gigantic teddy bear chilling in the back seat!! seeing this teddy reminds me that i also have a gigantic teddy bear sitting somewhere in my closet from the time my friends gave me for my birthday. i considered it more of a prank because it wouldn’t fit in my locker so i had to carry it to every class that day and my mandarin teacher giving me a hard time for taking up two seats

day 5 – bc day drive

image

it’s nice to actually be spending some family time hanging out in whiterock on a long weekend. whiterock is such a quiet, peaceful and laid back part of the city. here people actually get to appreciate the slowness of the day and just let things happen instead of rushing around the city trying to complete the neverending errands at hand. i guess that explains why i am a city girl; my world never stops or even slow down
