day 2419 – leave final note

working at hospitality designs has put a lot of stress and strain on me, both mentally, emotionally and physically. i was there even at my worst moments whether in a cast or on crutches, migraine or sickness. over the past few months i’ve really done everything in my powers to get all my numerous pressing deadlines. i saw the fruit of the new branding, new websites and new brochures. work either digital or in printed form that i can truly say i’m proud of. if this is the end, i’m proud of what i accomplished here

day 2302 – pajama shift

the luxury of working from home is i can wake up five minutes before and work in my pajamas. it’s a bit challenging working with one laptop-sized scree as opposed to two large monitors, but i’ve kept up. it’s been kind of good working remotely because i find my productivity level actually goes up. i also didn’t feel detached because i could use microsoft team to chat with friends within the office. the only drawback is having technical difficulties trying to connect my laptop to a conference call

day 2175 – render glitches

sketchup glitches getting in the way of updating hampton prototypes. what’s modeled isn’t what comes out in the interactive rendering. it’s not something that can’t be fixed, usually simply closing and reopening the file or removing the item and replacing it will do the job. most updates for the casual scheme are complete queued and waiting to be rendered. part of a renderer’s life cycle is clicking the render button and waiting for the crop to appear

day 2160 – hawaii tradeshow

back to work the day after a long weekend didn’t have me jumping out of bed for joy. i almost overslept because i had forgotten to turn on the recurring the alarm clock. good thing my fitbit alarm woke me up quarter past six. the day could have been even worse; at least i’m doing something fun like rendering for the hawaii tradeshow. no olympic lifting today like my regular tuesday because i had gone yesterday

day 2148 – first renderings

img_20200203_1419451982791721723701054.jpga look back at my first marketing rendering i did for the kits collection brochure. a lot of new learnings happened during my first crack at sketchup and vray plugins. i like that i’ll have a lot more freedom to explore sketchup and vray as a whole while creating branding for my own work. i see this also as an opportunity to improve the many skills i’ve longed for

2093 – bored

the journey has been quite rough the last little while, mainly referring to the work aspect. sometimes i just feel so unfulfilled at work these days because the waiting game continues. my kits collection rendering is delayed because the sketchup vray license is having issues. as a result, i’m killing time just doing floor plan conversions until the korean brothers can get it working again. i’m just trying to get through the week in one piece

day 2092 – second cup

most days i get by with one cup, but today i went for seconds. i’m feeling antsy and not at the same time because i have a deadline i know i won’t be able to make. there’s nothing i can do if all the remote computers are having sketchup vray license is having issues. i’m ticked off at home because my dad is throwing a hissy fit over something that sounds so minor. i’m just going to do my part and support my mom when necessary

day 2031 – pacman model

using sketchup at work all day almost everyday can be tiring on the eyes, but i enjoy it. was in the midst of building a lamp for my kits collection model room and accidentally built a pacman and pokeball instead. it’s a little nerve wracking that the marketing brochures are relying on my renders, but i’ve been chucking along the models and seem to have things under control. i can’t wait to have my first renders be on these brochures

day 1428 Рrender frenzy

speed testing coworker’s crazy ten thousand dollar computer towers with some sketchup vray renders while he’s on vacation. this forty eight cpu tower is a monster compared to my eight cpu. i’ll be mulling around his workstation and putting those extra cpus to good use before he’s back. with this, there’s hope i’ll be able to finish the renders stacy garcia wanted
