day 2466 – elevate it

i was told to keep my ankle moving, but elevate it whenever possible, so naturally thought of doing some handstands. i was also bored out of my mind during the day time finding things to do and shows to watch. it also bothered me so much contemplating if i could still train tonight. at training, i was sad because it occurred to me that i had absolutely no plans for my birthday tomorrow. i guess everyone forgot about my special day

day 2452 – video release

originally took on this project because my grandmaster asked for a video for his social media, turns out to be a pretty meaningful task for myself. since i wanted to post this on my own feed, i wouldn’t let anything sub-par be posted out in public. after a full day of rummaging through my archives and another few days mulling over things on premiere pro, i’m finally satisfied with the video edit. watching all these videos really makes me think back of my competition days and makes me realize how much i miss – both the glory on the podium and hardships endured in training

day 2427 – nacho zoom

while social distancing has distanced the nacho friends, we needed a way to virtually see each other’s faces. it was good to see what everyone was up to during the quarantine days. all of us are bored and some of us have lost our day to day jobs. i hope to set up a zoom video conferencing regularly just so all of us can stay in touch and stay sane during this crazy time

day 2259 – film set

a couple men came into the office carrying a whole bunch of equipment. apparently, we hired a filming company to record some footages for our new company website video. i don’t know what it’s all about, but they conveniently set their equipment at my desk and i was too shy to go back to my desk to work. i was then forced to take lunch because i couldn’t do anything productive

day 2082 – secret backtuck

it was a gruesome four hour long colour belt test that saw one hundred and fifteen students. my lungs were exhausted after calling out instructions nonstop, but i’m committed to doing a back tuck every time i step in the dojo. i tried to do it while the grandmaster was out of sight lines but because my mental setup isn’t instant, he walked back into the frame in time to see it take place. he reacted in a way i didn’t expect – very surprised and encouraging. i expected warnings from him to avoid high risk moves, but instead he showed interest and excitement in my ability to do acrobatics and even asked to send him the video. i wasn’t happy with that particular flip because i could only muster a tired flip, but the footage is now on his facebook page

day 1299 – execustar

got my taste of execustar fielding all sorts of questions from these two. it makes me think about the many ways i’ve contributed and the amount of people i’ve come across through playing and volunteering in this league. my poor butt took two hard falls at skating today so that makes three in as many days. i think it’s time for that overdue physio appointment

day 867 – spams

there’s been one conversation that’s taken over my whatsapp lately. i understand the importance of communication and whatsapp is a great way of communication, but it’s overdoing it and totally redundant if i have to receive the same message in four different means. i am not sure how keen i am waking up every morning to see repeated posts not just once, but four times. seeing twenty odd links by noon is unreal and totally ruins my whole whatsapp experience
