day 2472 – minion celly

my little hospitality design minion invited me over to her place for my belated birthday celebration. we had our long overdue catch up chat while enjoying our steak salad and roasted veggies. after our delicious dinner, we went out for an evening stroll while the sun set behind us. the perks of living in olympic village is the seawall is literally her backyard. i’m very thankful i was out today to take my mind off things that’s causing my stress level to rise

day 2285 – hotpot season

mom wanted to do hotpot at home tonight since everyone was present for dinner. i think she was indirectly hinting that i’m rarely home and she’s not wrong. normally, i wouldn’t be home so early if it wasn’t for my failing foot that trapped me indoors. lots of food on the table with a full selection of veggies and some meat slices. there’s also no shortage of tofu because i need my daily dose

day 2176 – uneaten lunches

uneaten lunches piling up because this week has been a little busy. my monday lunch is still uneaten in the office fridge because of onboarding lunch, first aid lunch meetings. both lunch boxes had things i wanted to eat so i shared the lunches with coworker and skipped the overlaps. if i start getting a stomachache in the afternoon, i’ll definitely blame the old leftover lunch

day 2052 – dessert delicacy

dinner, dessert and movie night with the group of girls to celebrate two march birthdays. trying out the new cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake from aberdeen’s spirtea. it’s one of those things that you can’t have all of so to share both the calories and the cost. we had sushi, assorted roasted vegetables and juke fried chicken while streaming bumblebee. it’s always good to catch up with the group now that some of them left the company

day 1987 – hotpotting

had a bunch of friends crash my house for hotpot because they heard i have the whole house all to myself this week. i don’t normally get a chance to host any parties simply cause i don’t have my own place. it’s my first hotpot of the cold wintery days. i’m so full from stuffing down all the food including beef, pork, assorted meat balls, fish tofu, mushrooms, daikon, and veggies. there’s a lot of cleaning up to do after stuffing our faces but fortunately there was a dishwasher within the group

day 1910 – crepe cake

girls night out at the gym before crashing a home for movie. we caught up a little while watching deadpool 2. we filled ourselves with homemade poke bowl ingredients before the main event which is all about the dessert delicacies. the earl grey and matcha flavoured crepe cakes plus coloured pearl bubble tea. it was good, but i would have to keep these decadence to a minimal for the meantime. it’s also quite a pricey enjoyment

day 1874 – poke master

improvised poke bowl for family dinner limited to the ingredients readily available in the fridge. the main ingredients were salmon sashimi, beets corn, cilantro and some wasabi for the zing. it was really light, refreshing yet flavourful. i think my newfound favourite vegetable to be beets. i’ll try making more funky poke bowls next time and experiment with different ingredients

day 1800 – canucks showdown 

saw so many familiar faces watching the canucks prospects summer showdown. there’s a few highly touted prospects i’m really excited to see and hopefully one or two of them will make the big club next year. i enjoyed the format of the event cause i got to watch them in five on five, four on four, three or three and even shootout. the carve burger was okay, but there was no nutritional value. i guess going with the poke bowl would have given me some preferred veggies

day 972 – oyster sauce

having a whole broccoli head all to myself because i pigged out too much last couple days. i’ve worked on keeping myself accountable leading up to competition, but the last couple days has been very difficult. all that stress has gotten the better part of me and i find suppressing has been harder and harder. if eating bland is going to get me back on track, then eating bland it is. my eating has gone awry to the point where it’s probably slightly unhealthy

day 949 – so green

dinner full of green food felt like the way to turn the corner and slowly leave that nasty cold behind. getting back to eating more greens is the goal instead of grabbing what’s most available. never thought i would ever say i missed my veggies, but i really do after a stretch of not so health conscious food. time to get healthy and stay healthy, the big events are fast approaching
