last day of my hong kong trip 2018 spent eating on seafood road in sai kung. that’s a wrap for this year’s asia trip. i caught up with a number of old friends, visited a lot of fun places, and ate an abnormal amount of food, but most importantly i saw family. it’s hard saying goodbye, but i must go home to resume my usual lifestyle and work commitments. i’ll admit at times it’s hard to swallow seeing the conditions both my grandmas are in. i really wish i could improve their standard of living, but i feel hopeless and almost heartbroken not having got a clue how. i’ll be back to my stomping ground soon enough
sleeping in on day three and final day of whistler getaway. before i go, i wanted to make sure to pay another visit to the olympic rings in the village. as much as i wanted to climb it, it’ll have to wait until next time. driving back to vancity was not fun with an irritated eye, but made it back to home. it was a weekend full of everything and now must get ready to grind again; my workaholic life resumes
no better way to settle the tier champ but having a rematch of last season’s finals. we started off the playoffs uncoordinated and making too many ill-advised moves; luckily we geared down and the teamwork started to show. i made some careless mistakes in the first half, but my catches started coming in the second half and made a pivotal catch. the team battled all the way to finals to force a game five and coming so close to defending our title. it was a great run, until next season
had to indulge in hotel breakfast buffet before heading back to vancouver where reality lies. the selection of food choices was overwhelming, but the omelet and smoked salmon were my favourite. i allowed myself to eat a lot less restrictive because it’s vacation time. now that my trip is over, it’s back to my being meticulous and back to my routine eating. the weekend flew by so quickly simply because i enjoyed myself. looking forward to planning our next trip, but in the meantime, must work hard and make sure it’s a well derseved one
my seven days of hong kong came to an end as i am off to japan for five. time flew by so quickly, i had a good time in hong kong but now i’m going to turn my attention to japan. i missed seeing mo on my screen the past couple days but we finally got a chance to face time while i was at the airport. it’ll be a little challenging with the video chats because japan is an extra hour ahead, but i am sure we’ll figure it out
the inevitable day has come and it’s really time to say goodbye. i have been wishing this day would never come, where we send you off to go back home. i hadn’t realize how influential you have been in my taekwondo career, both as a student and as an instructor. i am proud to say you are my great friend, instructor, coach and mentor. believe me, i would never have gotten this far without your support so thanks for teaching me so much and thanks for supporting me and my competition dreams in every way you could. the transition and move forward won’t be easy and i am feeling eerily uncertain about myself, but i will try my best to hold it together and continue towards the big stage. i wish you the best of luck in hong kong and look forward until we meet again
spending labour day on the water going for my second bout of wakeboarding and first bout for wakesurfing. much more enjoyable than the first spending much more time on the water instead of in the water. was unsure if it would be fun in the freezing cold water, but the wet suits made it alright. good way to close off an adventure-filled summer and probably marks the end of a season and the coming of fall. and maybe, just maybe, next summer i will be learning how to flip and do tricks for surfing. sad to see summer go but it was fun while it lasted, until next time!!
