the truth of success

image

often people have very ambitious goals and so happens to be right after new years for obvious reasons. it’s one thing to set goals but its another thing to do what it takes to achieve it. the saying it’s easier said than done is true to its words, i would know. but make sure once you set these goals, you back it up with action or else it only gets lost and becomes a dream in never never land. the road to success isn’t meant to be easy. in fact, more often than not, every goal is a long winding road that will involve many setbacks and obstacles along the way. don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t turn out exactly how you envisioned, keep looking forward and slowly but surely you will reach your goal

day 474 – lifting

image

strength isn’t about pushing others down so you can stand on top of them, its using your strength to lift others when time arise. if you are incapable of putting them to use for the right reasons, it doesn’t matter how strong you are physically. and so as i am learning to lift, i am also learning to become stronger to lift others in different ways. working my way up from an empty bar getting proper technique down is the main focus and i know once i have the foundation, the plates will come naturally. it hasn’t been long since i started, but found out i am quite addicted to this already and its something i want to progress with

許廷鏗 – 面具

this canto singer has an interesting background. this is another tune that tops my playlist and occasionally deserves to be put on repeat just because i like how closely the lyrics resemble reality of how people operate in the real world. what you see on the surface is usually not the whole truth and can only been felt once you put your mask away. why must everyone live with a mask?? why is it so important to sugar coat everything when we can just live freely and be ourselves??

twenties series: [fifteen] issues

after living for twenty years, you ought to know that life is full of challenges similar to a game of baseball that will throw fast balls, knuckle balls and curve balls whenever you least expect it. learn that no matter how many times you fail and how hard you fall, you just have to get up off your butt and attempt again. i have learned that i am not flawless and there are many things that needs improvement, but i am willing to make the changes required to be the person i want to become. still working on getting rid of all negative vibe and set a good examples for the younger ones i take under my wings. in the end, my ultimate goal is to be a positive influence to the people around me and leave a lasting finger print on their lives in some form. i will set my mind on doing what i want to achieve and prove all those doubters who once said there are things i cannot do. remember to always keep your eye on the ball, your head in the games and everything else will take care of itself. no one is born perfect, no one will ever come close to being perfect but those who try to be who they are will be the happiest. in other words, just be who you are and everything else will take care of itself

…and that wraps up my twenties series. hope you enjoyed reading up on what my thoughts are as much as i enjoyed writing them. hope to do more series soon

twenties series: [twelve] childhoodness

the transition of growing up from stage to stage is not an easy one. being a kid was easy but we wouldn’t even realize it at that time. during the first decade, there’s no need to stress, no need to worry and every day passed by like it was the best day of our lives. went to school, played with friends, had some extracurricular activities and went home happy and carefree. stepping into the second decade was a tougher because we realize there are added responsibilities and the acknowledgement of what stress is. school gets busier, homework increases, extracurricular activities piles on, not to mention drama will occur, relationships becomes unclear and the need to start thinking about career path. entering the third decade of the life, formally known as adulthood, is the toughest yet. school gets tougher, every exam and paper is like a do or die situation, extracurricular activities continues, love life has its ups and downs, and you feel like your career is trapped in fog and there’s no turning back. there are those moments when nothing is going right, everything happens out of the unexpected and everyone seems to be against you and you think long and hard and question whether you made the right decisions five years ago. i now understand why people will occasionally go in the quarter life crisis. i don’t know what is in store for me the rest of this decade and the next ones to come, but i am set to make take the positives out of situations and make it the best possible experience
