two straight sundays i venture into surrey, both times for the reason of going to the hockey shop. dropping off my jersey for a custom stitching and preparing it for the next game. after some browsing in the goalie section, went next door into surrey central to get my half off happy hour matcha tea latte. walked passed club 16 and peeked into the facility. i could get use to see linden’s face each time before heading through the gym doors
pushing through the crowded rogers arena during intermission taking photos with my all time favourite canuck. the canucks off to a good start getting points in the both games played. specifically chose to attend this all canadian matchup against senators because of alex burrows. it was a nice gesture to play a special burrows tribute video during a stoppage. although the canucks didn’t take the win, it was a good game getting our value of overtime and shootout
there’s tremendous sadness in the world of hockey today as the life of a hockey legend come to an end. pat quinn was an incredible man, player, coach and mentor who contributed so much to the game of hockey and brought so much joy to many fans across the nation. not only was he a key component of many great vancouver canucks moments, he was also a big part of countless nhl and hockey canada moments. everyone who’s worked with in the hockey community respects him so and compliments him with nothing but the highest regards. for me, he will forever be remembered as the man who drafted my idol trevor linden into the system and lead the 94 team into the stanley cup finals. he will be missed but not forgotten because he leaves behind a great legacy. pat quinn said it best, “follow your dreams, listen to your heart, obey your passion”
super awesome friend brought my jersey to canucks meet and greet to get some autographs, but i received much more than that. the trevor linden plaque with autograph was a big bonus and now a linden jersey would make my collection pretty extensive and complete. who knows maybe one day i will meet linden my long time childhood idol himself in person and take a photo with him
new president is the centre of all news and talk in vancouver these days. days after accepting the offer to be canucks new president, trevor is once again featured. best thing that happened this season that brings joy to my heart knowing this is exactly what the canucks needed and no doubt the place he belongs. what would i do to get a chance to personally meet trevor linden??
happy birthday to my most respected and beloved canucks of all time. he’s brought me so much joy and so much memories that i will never forget. been watching and admiring him since i was in grade 3, still remember all the memorable times he had as a canuck player and hope there will be a lot more to come as the president!! you are the reason why i like the canucks and the reason i continue to support the canucks through thick and thin. you are one of my greatest idol and that will never change
