day 2132 – burnt notre dame

left belgium in the morning for our final country, france. taking the train is the easy part, lugging the suitcases to airbnb is the hard part. the unfortunate timing for the notre dame fire caused us the chance to take nice photos. it was hard to get any good views of the building because it’s currently obstructed for reconstruction. over the course of our the europe tour thus far, many of the buildings are under construction. hopefully the ones in paris won’t be like that was well

day 2123 – london eye

immediately rushed out to meet up with the boys after landing and checking in my airbnb. by then it was pushing 4pm, where we finally had lunch near westminister district. the group of us walked around looking at westminister abbey, westminister bridge, london eye, big ben and trafalgar square. at the end of the day, i attempted a back tuck in front of london eye but i really wasn’t satisfied with the flip itself. i wanted to try again but at the same time i knew i was too tired and too full to make any better attempts. and this was only day one in london, but felt like i’ve been up for forty eight straight hours

day 2122 – iceland reykavik

first stop of my europe trip is a layover in iceland. twenty two hours to check into my airbnb and go for a crazy drive. made the trek out south to find the black sand beaches, caves and gigantic waterfalls. the most challenging part was trying to find things when all icelandic words are unprounceable. food there was so expensive even for the most basic and bland burger. i was so tired driving seven hours after a red eye flight, but had to suck it up and get back to the airbnb where my instant noodle awaits

day 2003 – disney days

on the theme of throwbacks, i go back to my university graduation trip with highschool friends to los angeles disneyland. even though i traveled with the team to basketball tournaments, this would be my first real trip with friends that included taking a flight. the six of us had a lot of fun at at theme parks of disneyland and hollywood, and beaches of california. so  much fun we narrowly caught our flight back home from seatac airport. i consider this a treat for myself after having gone through two intensive years in ends program

day 1993 – parents los cabos

i rushed from flipping to pick up my parents from the airport after their eight day travel to the sunny los cabos. it so happened to be my dad’s birthday, but they didn’t really feel like eating out when they returned, i guess there was too much of that in mexico. it sounded like they had a relaxing time escaping the cold weather of vancity. i’m glad they live life to its fullest and travel as often as they like. though i lose some freedom, i do restore the regular my eating routine

day 1978 – taekwondo clan

so happy to have another one of our meet ups while he comes back for a visit. i miss training, traveling and hanging out together with this gang. the good old days when we were altogether self training for every upcoming competition, getting through promotion tests and winging demostrations. we’ve all grown up and so much as changed, but it’s always going to be the same group that went through thick and thin. taekwondo would never have been the same without this gang. i hope next time we meet up, everyone’s back in town for good. i also hope one day we’ll be able to run a studio of our own, taekwondo family

day 1952 – macarons

as i’m researching for europe trip, i realize i’m going to a place where the best pastries and macarons exists. i’ve already got a full list of attractions to hit up. on top of the flight, there’s also lots of planning and coordination needed for trains, airbnb, food, and shopping amongst others. it’s not going to be a cheap trip for sure, but it’s something on my bucket list for a long, long time. i better start saving up for this big trip now
