day 990 – rdl champ

image

i couldn’t have been more satisfied winning rdl tier 2 champs. every sour catch kid stepped up and played together down the stretch to make this happen. it was a hard earned championship where we had to fight through many tough series and come back from the loser’s bracket. it did come with a cost. i took two shots in the head in a single play – one being a ball that struck me in the collarbone area, the other being a follow through elbow in the back of my head. it was a scary moment because i don’t recall dropping down on the floor like a rock and being unresponsive for a good minute or two. regardless, i just wanted to get up and continue playing because the finals meant the world to me. i can deal with the consequences after it’s all said and done

day 985 – imperishable

it’s true very little can stand between me and my gym, even when my headache and cough is getting progressively worse as the day wears on. was feeling pretty shitty when i walked in, but the gym is a place that ignites me and gives me that boost of energy whenever it’s lacking; it’s my happy place. lots of people don’t agree with my recklessness, but i will do what i set out to do and would rather collapse doing so. i am a tough cookie afterall and i’d hate to skip gym

resolution series: [twentyeight] pity

everyone has their own problems to deal with, some less complex than others. there’s no secret that i have been plagued with endless injuries throughout my life. i have given up on trying to hide that, because i have learned that patchwork only makes it go away on the superficial level. unfortunately that’s just temporary fix and will keep piling on to account for greater problems. i simply cannot live without the sports and activities which i play, for it is the passion of my life. it won’t be forever, but it is my choice to continue playing and practicing them for as long as i can manage. i do intend on doing everything i can within my powers to do my rehab and maintenance work. my main focus is on getting better and stronger every single day; always be a better version of myself. don’t question my will to strive for what i want just because you have it easier. don’t question my passion to always stay hungry and carry on even when nothing goes my way. don’t question how big my heart is when you don’t know how much pain i have endured. don’t question my toughness if you don’t know what i experienced because very few people have a clue how much work, time, energy and commitment i put into making all this possible. standing on my own two feet was never a given to me, but i learn to be grateful for all the times i can. sometimes i sit alone thinking to myself i don’t deserve to be dealing with all these mishaps and i certainly don’t deserve your bashing or judgement. i need not your pity nor your approval for what i have to go through as i result of what i do. i was given this life and these obstacles because i could handle it. i appreciate those who’s helped me out along the way, it’s meant the world to me. if you have nothing good to say, don’t speak

day 557 – lazy days

image

continuing with my restful recovery week and lazy days turned out to be not so lazy afterall. the entire week has been very uneventful and least flattering, being stuck at home and unavailable for any physical activities made me feel beyond useless. i felt less dizzy today so decided to go to the gym and if i get through that without lasting ill-effects, i am heading up the mountain tomorrow

day 419 – my rationale

image

life is all about getting over challenges to be able to enjoy the things i consider fulfilling and meaningful. everyone has different values in life and many have disagreed with my decisions but have supported me in ways possible. no stranger to pain and injuries but today is one of those days where i feel absolutely grateful at my appointment. for the first time in a long time, i actually feel like i have my legs under me and all the beating i have taken is paying off. a big shout out to my physio and kinesiologists who have kept me in my sports throughout the years. couldn’t have done it without any one of you
