day 2470 – sponge cake

the expectation of post covid times is many people will come out of this quarantine with newfound baking and cooking skills  – my mom is no different. she spends her excess time roaming around youtube, searching for new recipes and new things to cook. baking is a dangerous game because there’ll be a lot of unwanted calories available in my house. at this rate, my mom might be able to open her own bakery shop

day 2407 – brainstorming

the thirty six hour whirlwind of text messages, calls and emails is finally over. i got the all important document that salvaged killarney classes for this weekend. even though it’s fixed in the nick of time, it doesn’t change the fact the business owner didn’t own up to his school and left me out on this insurance roller coaster. if i hadn’t personally reached out, none of the problem would never have been resolved. i’m learning as i go, but i’m also learning how much the grandmaster is willing to do for killarney. maybe it’s really time i start my own thing

day 2391 – shopping with mom

my extended long weekend is reserved to hangout with mom. it’s been far too long since the two of us had any extended quality time together. she wanted to go shopping so we went for a brunch before queensborough outlet. i took her to cora’s, shared a smoked salmon benedict and still couldn’t manage to finish. it was a good day off just being out with my mom. unfortunately my foot started hurting from the heavy tape job done by physio

day 2288 – traffic nightmare

a traffic nightmare at ironwood intersection after work. some coworkers decided not to wait in line and went to the riverside, others walked to the plaza for dinner. i on the other hand waited in line and was trapped for over forty minutes before i got onto number five road. instead of waiting more at knight bridge, i went straight to the gym to do an upper body workout instead

day 2041 – woodwork

img_20200124_1358501504087770894730461.jpg

doing some wordwork in my backyard with the help of my dad while it’s sunny outside. it’s a rare occurrence to have spare time, but i made use of the moment and did a bunch of things that’s usually not a top priority. i started off the morning with power skating, did a thorough car wash and vacuum inside and out, and built some plyo boxes. i can’t wait to show them off once i have all the material to finish off the big boxes, but so far it’s turned out well

day 1919 – laid back

a laid back thursday of just work and work. though i say laid back, it’s still a eleven hour work day for me. i was pretty brain dead by the time tutor came around and wished i could forgo that i take a nap instead. i went to tutor as usual because i felt committed and owed it to the students. today was all about math because both sisters had a math test coming up

day 1687 – book assignment

feels like school all over again when a book was assigned for home reading. this is a suppose to be a highly recommended book by the boss who bought a few copies to circulate within the office. this is meant to be an educational piece so i’ll need to arrange for reading outside of the sixty hours i already spend working. i haven’t read books like this in years but always willing to allot some time out of my crazy schedule to make myself more successful and i’ll be doing so one page at a time

day 1648 – equipment haul

img_20200130_2256414440097618375832723.jpgjust twelve hours later lugging my hockey bag out of killarney, i’m walking into the community centre again, this time with me a bunch of taekwondo equipment. getting back into the thick of teaching isn’t so bad if i didn’t have to deal with a crazy mother who doesn’t think like a regular human. like i’ve said a hundred times and will say again and again; if u’re in it for the belt, u’re in the wrong place cuz i don’t just sell them. it’d save both my time and her money if i just directed her to a martial art store

christmas day crept up so quickly. the holiday season is an amazing time to socialize, relax, shop, soak in the festive spirit, and most importantly spend time with people you love and cherish. i often wish there’s more opportunities to communicate with my family more. i try, but sometimes i just don’t try hard enough. this might be the season that matters most so i’m promise to try a little from here on. merry christmas and happy holidays to all

last day of work for the year. it was a slow morning and time was going by even slower after lunch. everyone in the office are mulling around, waiting for an authoritative one to make announce dismissal. the whole department had a nice year end lunch out at brown’s social house. all i want to do is get off so i can go to the gym and then see my hamberites
