day 2421 – empty court

tennis is technically a self distancing sport so seemed like a low risk activity to do. the courts were empty on the normally popular van tech courts. it’s been so long since i last hit the courts so there was a lot of rust and not so much rally. my shins forgot how hard the pavement is and immediately felt the soreness hit. this is a sport i could play a lot more of even when all my leagues are down

day 2369 – federer comeback

it was pretty hard to watch this match as it wore on; probably one of the hardest federer matches i’ve ever watch him play. i could see federer’s movements are compromised and i know he was feeling lots of discomfort but still playing relentlessly until the end. his amazing efforts coming back to win a five setter. i would sacrifice my sleep any day to watch his play. it was the first time i went live on instagram so a friend without cable could watch the end of the match

day 2295 – federer triumphs

i’ve been coughing my lungs out for past four days and it seems to be getting worse even with all the medication i’m taking. i’m sure my coworkers don’t want a person coughing so much to be around the office. a sick day to stay at home watching federer play in nitto finals tournament. really good match for federer where he dominated against djokovic and earned a spot into the semifinals. i can’t wait to watch him play next round

day 2172 – federer wimbledon

waking up for a federer wimbledon final at 6am was never in question. although it pains me to see federer lose after pouring his heart out, his play was still amazing, matching his opponent shot for shot. in my heart he won the match because how unfortunate is it to lose three tiebreaks. i do however wish i had a chance to take a quick nap before a working a colour belt test. good thing it went smoothly and i can go home and use what’s left of the weekend to rest

day 2125 – wimbledon tour

i’m ecstatic to have the chance to tour and walk on the same grounds as many of the tennis greats. i get to be in the centre court, practice courts, broadcasting station and press conference rooms where i can freely take photos. it’s definitely one of the top priorities on this trip and will likely be a top highlight when it’s all said and done. i wish i could take my parents to see this lawn tennis centre. the least i could do was take back a souvenir for both. also wished i could spend more time here, but other sightseeing duties call. hope one day i can afford to be a ticket holder of this grand slam

day 2040 – federer record

gladly waking up early for another one of federer’s finals. this one is extra special as he’s going for his one hundredth atp title. i’m so happy to witness federer making another history breaking record and reaching the century club. it’s such a treat watching him on the court; he’s one of those players that explemifies finesse to perfection. watching him really makes me itch for some tennis. i hope he continues to play a few more years and chip away at more records. i only wish one day i can watch him play live and meet him in person

day 1763 – strung racket

got my steam racket restrung, finally, and ready to hit some tennis balls. crazy that over the course of the idleness, it has lost twelve pounds of tension. i’m really looking forward to the prime time on the court now that the weather is getting really good. i forgot how much i love playing and watching this sport, and how it will always be one of my favourite childhood sports growing up. also looking forward to catching some local tournaments whenever possible
