day 1916 – ergo mouse

back to work feeling unrested after a weekend of work coaching, working and playing. i could definitely use my sleep if i could drop a thing or two. i have no complaints about my current standard mouse but thought i’d give the new batch of mouse a try. it felt kind of weird to have an upright position. call me old school, i think i’ll pass on it and stick with my current mouse

day 1538 – sit stand

only ordered days ago and excited to find my laptop stand already at my doorstep. can’t wait to unwrap and put it to good use once i can set up my home workstation. it isn’t as sturdy as the picture on the site showed but it should do the job and carry the weight of my laptop. i’ve been very diligent with my spendings, and this is one i thought was timely with my situation

day 1426 – forest blue xz

had been very good with my spendings lately so thought the timing was right to splurge and give myself a late birthday present by adding an xz to my sony collection. wanted to buy this many months ago, stayed patient for my phone case to arrive and the price to drop a bit. then waited some more for the one plus five release, but still set on my forest blue xz. setting up the phone just the way i like it will take some time.

day 1281 – classroom

handing in one assignment and already assigned the next one. site analysis is a lot of work and site adaptive design has its many restraints, but it’s still allows for creativity. i’m not used to hand drawing and haven’t done manual since my drafting 12 days, but it’s good practice outside of all the cad and computer heavy cad work i do

day 1244 – door crashing

image

door crashing with my dad for my portable hard drive and his television sound system. it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the line up to the cashier was an hour long. i didn’t want to see the gong show at metropolis today so i went home and took an hour nap before continuing with my day. i did more black friday shopping than boxing day shopping; that’s a good thing because i really need to control my spendings and work harder at saving

day 1235 – screen time

image

killarney taekwondo term was over last weekend, meaning my first real weekend in far too long. spent the day reorganizing my workstation, discarding unwanted material and relocating things to other places so my work area is less cluttered. it also meant throwing out a lot of old junk and dusty paper weights. this is a good reset for a fresh start and be ready for the new challenges i decided to take on. hypothetically, the three monitors should make my productivity go up

twenties series: [five] technology

some arguments were made that technology is altering people interaction and that we are losing the ability to communicate with face to face conversations. that may be true on some level, but can’t argue that technology is a powerful tool that has also brought us many conveniences like never before. sure, the increased gaming opportunities isn’t a good reflection but a little wouldn’t hurt. no one can argue being able to send a short message or quickly snap and send a picture through our mobile phones applications in a matter of seconds is not convenient, the simplicity to check in or tag your friends in photos to share, or the ability to retrieve an email the second it arrives is not efficient. let’s be realistic, who doesn’t own a computer or cellphone these days and who still uses land line as home phone?? the technological world is advancing so quickly, the fastest and most efficient way is to constantly be checking all sorts of platforms. i must admit i am a culprit of relying on technology everyday, every waking hour. i don’t see how that can be a bad thing because just by checking up on social media, it allows me to catch up on some friend news, gossip new and world news even if it means reading them off my facebook wall. i admit i am the person who would be swiping on my phone at the dinner table; but in my defense, being a busy person makes it is not all unncessary activity, but i am working on minimizing that. bottom line is i feel so lost and naked without my phone, i simply cannot live without technology and i don’t think its a bad thing
