day 2035 – coaching duties

i went to flipping after work because i have nothing better to do before poomsae training. coaching was a must even on a bad ankle when i could barely walk when untaped. no question i work tirelessly for my students and just want them to improve and be all that they can. though i enjoy teaching and helping the students, these long days are very taxing both physically and mentally. i basically worked seventy thirty to nine with a two hour break. i ended up eating dinner at almost 10pm and was beyond starvation at that point

day 1438 Р renovation complete

it’s been a physically taxing day even compared to my typical saturday. put my muscles to good use early morning to move the fridge and the wall cabinets. a hectic five hour taekwondo shift of nonstop teaching without a water or washroom break. i felt depleted for the first hockey game and couldn’t get my mind nor my legs in the game. just as i thought i had no more gas in the tank for round two, i pulled through and managed to play some proper hockey. when i got off the ice, i then realized so many body parts are hurting

after the weekend, my work hour total would be over fifty five and my sleep total is halved that. finishing the work week with some well deserved coffee. i’m completely exhausted and taxed, but i’m going to keep grinding on the term project and final exam coming up next week. colleagues’ are friendly and work atmosphere is pleasant; i’m adapting quickly and learning lots on the go

day 1022 – landed in hong kong

much of the day was spent trapped in a confined plane, but i finally made it out to see some light. it’s kind of hard to keep track since i lose a day due to crossing numerous time zones. luckily the seat next to mine was not occupied, which made the thirteen hour flight a tad better. during the plane ride, i jotted down many things in my notebook including some upcoming plans, goals, thoughts and reflections that i want to attack and achieve once i get from this trip. i also got a chance to watch the movie fantastic four

the weather is humid but fortunately it’s not too hot today. everything went smoothly as i took the double decker out of airport and my parents were there to meet me at the terminus station near my grandma’s place. it has been a week since i saw my parents; they were very glad to see me, and so was i. i went to bed before 11pm because plane rides are very taxing

solo series [day one]

i am excited to be heading home to hong kong to see my relatives and visiting japan for the first time. it’s a long overdue trip as it’s been three years since i last visited hong kong and my extended family. my parents decided to keep my appearance a top secret. i’m curious to see how my relatives react upon my arrival. now that nationals is over, i will definitely cut back on competition training and turn my attention to other trainings. but before i dive back into training, i need some time off because it’s been a while since i last had a real vacation. i’ll also take this opportunity to recuperate from the recent stresses of life. only then will i come back recharged and ready to make some tough decisions and big changes

for the next twelve days that mo and i will be apart on different continents, i will writing my “solo series” to keep everyone back home in the loop with what’s happening in and around my life. stay tuned and be ready for my journal of adventures

day 214 – patella

results of leaving my knees taped up for a full day through my physically active day.¬† it’s what i rely on to protect, secure and limit the taxing on my delicate knees so i can do what i want for the most part. i wish i could be less reliant on taping and support for the poor tracking of my knees
