day 2284 – inflammable

both my ankles started to swell up hours after my prp treatment, the right one more so than the left. i couldn’t move it up or down and i felt the internal battle and the pain within my bloodstream. the spots were tender from the needle injections and the area was burning hot. needless to say, i had a very rough and restless night because the pain was so much. i’ve never had it so bad that thoughts of amputation crept into my mind. i literally crawled to get tylenol hoping to catch some shut eye

say 2109 – ankle update

inflammation and infection seems to have gone down but it’s a no go for hockey. i jammed my foot and ankle pretty bad at the tail end of training yesterday, which makes me believe i am in dire need for the ultrasound or mri. it frustrates me because the fact i actually got my foot around on my butterfly twist attempt was also the cause of the jam. i was hoping i would get in earlier from cancelations, but doesn’t look like i’ll get my results before i leave for my trip

day 2107 – swollen infection

when i look down at my ankle, it’s safe to say there’s something really wrong with it. i got myself into my chiropractor because i thought my ankle was locked, jammed or sprained of some sort, turns out i needed to go to hospital more. the size of my ankle is twice the size of my normal and there’s random bruising on my ankle bone not to mention it’s burning inside. he suggested there’s an infection and get it checked out as soon. me being me, i checked the emergency wait times and declined. i wasn’t going to spend six hours at the hospital, but booked in to see my family doctor tomorrow morning

day 1447 – edgy

my ankle was tender and swollen even after icing the night. haven’t seen a doctor to look at the bone but i was determined to go to nash regardless. so determined i iced on my way to work and while at work. did everything to force it because i wasn’t about to skip another leg day and leave any regrets. i went through my normal routine minus the box jumps. i’ve noticed my strength is returning to me and happy to take that one plate back. good sign squatting and deadlifting didn’t cause any additional pain

day 1372 – hotel hopping

image

walking the street and hotels all day until my feet hurts and my ankles are swollen. it’s not often i walk over 25000 steps in one day to the point where my legs feel like they’re about to fall off. the first day of hd expo is spent doing research on the pretty hotels of vegas. i’ll have to be at the booth and venue tomorrow; i probably won’t enjoy it, but i’ll make the best out of it and hope it goes by fast and smooth

solo series [day nine]

i had a full seven hours of undisrupted sleep which is by far the best night of sleep since i left vancouver. i like the b&b i am staying at; it’s a well equipped space with clean shower, butt washing heated toilet seats, big bed and a simple kitchen

after we figured out how to take the train, my parents and i were out and about in osaka. we started off at namba shopping streets where we bought a bunch of goods. i had my chance to try the famous japanese takoyaki, which i thought was okay. after lunch, we went straight for downtown area, umeda, to hit some sightseeing points which included malls and department stores

after all the steps taken throughout the day, i couldn’t walk anymore so i opted to stay back while my parents went out for dinner. i need to stay off my feet if i want to have a chance to walk and sightsee tomorrow. instead of going out for dinner, i was able to fit in a mini circuit which made me feel better

three more full days in japan before i head home. i know i should focus on japan first and worry about other things later but that doesn’t stop me from thinking of all the plans i have waiting for me once i get back

day 1029 – takoyaki

image

everyone said that takoyaki is a must once i am in japan. to be honest, i can’t be the judge to compare them to vancouver’s because i don’t normally eat takoyaki anyways. beyond eating and shopping, i also walked a lot around downtown osaka and did some typical tourist things. i can’t walk anymore for my ankles are overworked and a tad swollen
