day 1875 – treadmill intervals

spent my off day from flipping for a rare cardio moment because i simply can’t find a way to appreciate it. i don’t think i’ve been on a treadmill for more than five minutes since i last did the sunrun. by the end of it, i was dropping with sweat. my lower body is so taxed from my regular activities i need not to do more leg work even more on my off days. the rest of the time was for core, stretching and rolling

day 1861 – bootcamp survivors

the group of survivors from the outdoor summer bootcamp repping our t-shirts. back at the beginning, attendance from the office was in the thirties; as the summer went on, it slowly trickled down to ten. even though i missed most of the last month’s sessions due to my injuries, i made an effort to be present for the last one. my shoulder still gives restricts me in all my activities. my circuits had to be modified and it so happens everything i could do into a leg day

day 1782 – vanishes

being exposed is the first step, learning is the second step and practicing is the next. learning about vanishes and working on those tornado kicks, eventually to link some combos together. all these drills further shows me how right dominant i have become; but then again, how often is anyone ambidextrous in tricking? going to classes has been really fun with a welcoming bunch and patient instructors. the next step is having the time and confidence to go to open gyms. what a workout today; i was already sweating as i sit and stretch

day 1716 – interval runsĀ 

was occupied with meetings after meetings all day and even had to cancel tutor cause i was going overtime. i did, however, make it to the gym and ran until i was dripping sweat. it was a hard run and i definitely pushed it to the max but it’s the last of interval running before sun run day. until then, i’ll be tapering off and doing short ones here and there. then i realized that means no squatting or leg work for the next week either. that got me a little sad. i tell myself i have to temporarily put my weights on hold for a better sun run

day 1514 – perspirationĀ 

my glutes are in extreme soreness and overall body is tired after a workout and coaching session. i forget how much i have to demonstrate when sifu is there. so sore i was in limbo to go workout or not. in the end i went because the blueberry muffin devoured earlier needed to be justified; won’t let myself eat without having exercised. in transition between my program; the increased urgency is the cause of more sweat

day 1480 – riverway round robinĀ 


rounds robin day for softball at the nicely groomed fields of riverway sports complex. going to be camping out in these eight diamonds for the next two days to finish up slopitch summer season. it’s an activity filled saturday full of slopitch, teaching and then hockey. i’m very disappointed that drop in did not happen as i was looking to play a serious game two of playoffs. no one would suspect there’s a mix up of rink bookings after playing at the same time slot since may

day 1464 – melting away

trying to sleep in my room is like sleeping in a sauna. i’m sweating even when sitting still with two small fans blowing beside me. sleep quality and quantity has dropped because my top floor is suffocating heat. the air quality is at its worst all summer, so bad it’s making me have constant headache for two straight days. i hope the smoke and smog gets blown away quicker so i can carry out some outdoor activities
