day 2061 – goaltending

one of the things i’ve always wanted to try growing up was to play goalie on ice. i got that chance today during squirtle open ice. playing in net was fun, but i didn’t enjoy putting on twenty extra pounds of gear. i imagine i’d be a hasek type goalie who sprawls into full out stretches, but a bad groin didn’t allow me to go down into butterfly all that much. i had a really good catching side that carried over from softball, but the blocker side was rather uncoordinated. i was drenched in sweat by the time our session ended

day 1716 – interval runs 

was occupied with meetings after meetings all day and even had to cancel tutor cause i was going overtime. i did, however, make it to the gym and ran until i was dripping sweat. it was a hard run and i definitely pushed it to the max but it’s the last of interval running before sun run day. until then, i’ll be tapering off and doing short ones here and there. then i realized that means no squatting or leg work for the next week either. that got me a little sad. i tell myself i have to temporarily put my weights on hold for a better sun run

day 1449 – platform

working on the timing of my high pull now that i can get back to doing full cleans. each rehab session is challenging but offers so much more than just regaining what i had lost. i get worked quite hard each time; my shirt is drenched in sweat by the end, but i like that it keeps me on my toes. my kineis plays a big part in fast tracking me to regain my strength and form. he along with chiro is building me stronger a better for the progress that’s expected to come. best of all, i no longer feel like the remnants of my accident  hinders my body from doing my activities. i just need to work on and take care of the injuries i have racked up as of late

day 992 – stuffy day

today is one of those hot and humid spring days that makes me think spring just ended and summer is well on its way. the temperature peaked at 26 during mid day; i was already sweating as i was standing inside the gym about to begin my warm up. i am ready to get my tan started earlier than last year. i am looking forward to this summer; there’s so many exciting things waiting ahead this season

 

day 971 – come along

the last of our lazy days of easter long weekend. i say lazy, but i actually accomplished a lot today with training at the dojo, training at the gym, an exec planning meeting and then more extended training at the gym. buckets of sweat from all that training but no complaints from me. i am completely exhausted from the workload and heavy restrictions, but i will do what i said i would and give it my everything. at the end of the day, no matter how tired, i find myself wanting to be together

day 901 – plyo power

i knew what i was in for the moment i stepped into the gym today. it was all about drilling and drilling plyos because that’s what i wanted so that’s exactly what i got. the buckets of sweat from today said it all. it’s a very fulfilling and satisfying session cause i felt like i gave it my all and made every rep count. there was no holding back nor conserving energy for next sets on this day. this should be my hardest working session yet where all breaks received were hard earned

day 896 – kickboxing

always wanted to try kickboxing so i gave it a shot. it was fun and pretty much what i expected –  a cardio workout. the class was structured in several phases, but they pride on not stopping at any one of them and surprisingly i didn’t need to. i could really benefit from working up a sweat and use that as distraction from everything that’s been happening lately. i received constant feedback and comments, many of which mentioned i had a good roundhouse kick. why thank you, i guess my roundhouse kick is not too shabby
