i’m hoping the coldest of the winter is beyond us for this season, but if it’s isn’t, i’ll have a toque to fall back on. a lot of the times the last resort for souvenirs is edibles, but honestly receiving something other than edibles is a good thoughtful souvy. didn’t catch much of the olympics being so busy with work and life, but this will be a keepsake to remember where and when it was
the day has come for us to fly out to calgary, but can’t leave without a swagger. repping team bc poomsae at nationals is always something special. i don’t know what to expect and there’s no shame to say there’s fear and uncertainties in my mind. i know i must go out to these competitions because each one is an opportunity to gain more experience and broaden my taekwondo circle. regardless of the results, let’s make it a fun and worthwhile trip
all the excitement of getting my new obyf warm up shirt and gearing up for season 20 starts now. just in time as exhibition week commences this week and feeling good heading into the new season sporting our limited edition season 20 swag, as if obyf home and away jersey wasn’t enough. i am convinced the team will look great no matter which of the collection we choose to wear on any given night. if this doesn’t give us the excuse to walk around with a swagger i don’t know what does
super awesome friend brought my jersey to canucks meet and greet to get some autographs, but i received much more than that. the trevor linden plaque with autograph was a big bonus and now a linden jersey would make my collection pretty extensive and complete. who knows maybe one day i will meet linden my long time childhood idol himself in person and take a photo with him
another competition group picture worth sharing. after claiming our bling at governor’s cup in washington last week, master shin greeted us to congratulate our success and invited us to pan-am next month. we certainly turned some heads and opened some eyes while we were there and that’s what we really need. in my opinion and of my own interest, it is important for us to put our names and faces out there beyond the province of british columbia. if we want to grow as a school, as a team and as an individual, we must get to know the people out there and make them notice us. washington was a good start; we have lots on our plate, next up oregon.
another day out in the scorching temperature, spending my sunday afternoon at pride helping out and playing around at my vdl booth. got my hands on a tier 1 title but probably won’t ever have a chance to pay for it. first time at pride and it was an eye opener just to see the types of festivities this parade hosted. too much cardio in the past two days of this three day long weekend, covering over nine kilometers and more to come tomorrow. but its good training because it helps kick start something new that is a welcoming change in my life
sporting toronto nationals swag as proof that i was here. tomorrow is the big day, regardless of whatever happens on stage, i am guaranteed to have a souvenir to remember my time and experience at nationals 2014. feeling unprepared for the biggest stage of my life but the show must go on. and after that, we can finally relax and enjoy our stay in the big city
