day 1464 – melting away

trying to sleep in my room is like sleeping in a sauna. i’m sweating even when sitting still with two small fans blowing beside me. sleep quality and quantity has dropped because my top floor is suffocating heat. the air quality is at its worst all summer, so bad it’s making me have constant headache for two straight days. i hope the smoke and smog gets blown away quicker so i can carry out some outdoor activities

day 704 – japanese meal

image

feels like it’s been ages since i last sat down with my family to have some japanese food. in fact, i haven’t had many sit down meals with my family since i returned from montreal. i suppose the fourth of july is a good day to catch up on some of the family time that was missed. here’s some cold noodles and sushi rolls to satisfy our stomaches and beat the summer heat

day 703 – after class

image

refuelling after a friday night class filled with heavy dose of physical training. the grandmaster was present first time in ages, therefore instead of showing up to class to get some extra practice and drilling poomsae, i ended up doing endless jumping exercises which i wasn’t intending on doing; especially with my messed up back. what made training harder was not only was it thirty degrees outside, but the dojo has poor ventilation and no air conditioning

day 369 – choco milk

image

drinking chocolate milk like a boss straight from the jug because i can. this is only possible when my parents are not in town. needed to replenish some fluids and recover after a morning tennis session on this hot bc day. talk about exercise and cardio overload this weekend, it just keeps adding on but i am liking it. just trying to enjoy my long weekend while i still can

day 368 – pride parade

image

another day out in the scorching temperature, spending my sunday afternoon at pride helping out and playing around at my vdl booth. got my hands on a tier 1 title but probably won’t ever have a chance to pay for it. first time at pride and it was an eye opener just to see the types of festivities this parade hosted. too much cardio in the past two days of this three day long weekend, covering over nine kilometers and more to come tomorrow. but its good training because it helps kick start something new that is a welcoming change in my life

day 349 – end of the day

image

quite a long and exhausting day after demo practice and all its physical and mental demands. it usually requires some form of patience training which i don’t have much of. got home and just want to sit back, relax and catch my tvb drama before i call it a day. a chilled drink right now to go along would feel like paradise but i am too tired to go get one or make one myself

day 348 – hot and sunny

image

gorgeous vancouver weather and would be happier if i had more time to enjoy it outside. down at the water front getting myself the required vitamin d from sunlight and summer heat. hope it’s here to stay for a while cause i haven’t started my season and definitely not ready to see it end
