day 953 – re-rack much??

image

day three of staying off my legs as i was instructed. i may be operating with many limitations, but doesn’t mean that i can’t go to the gym to work on other muscle groups. disgusted at those people who doesn’t clean up after themselves and re-rack the weights they used. it’s not much to ask for; if you use the weights, you should be strong enough to put them away. these people should be publicly shamed for being an inconsiderate human being and ruining the gym experience for others

day 815 – chances slipping

image

the registration deadline is closing in and my chances of being able to compete is diminishing. it’s looking a lot like i have to give up my hope of competing in pan am club cause i still am not cleared to kick. i was really looking forward to going to this one but wouldn’t sacrifice quality just so i can go. a competition would lose its meaning if i went in under trained and not able to uphold my own standard. i know very well that i would feel even worse if i went and did subpar because i am not there to participate but to contend. i guess i will turn my attention to focus on rehab and prepare for what’s next in store for me

day 511 – feast on eve

image

as i could have guessed, the luxurious holiday feasting goes on. day three of three and this time out with family eating a yummy lobster dinner. so much intake, definitely not the gains i want. i made up my mind that there will be some extensive exercising and training waiting for me once i get my knee fixed up in working condition. in the meantime, i might as well enjoy the rest of the holiday season full of food

day 482 – adjustment time

image

my legs took a ton of beating and bruising lately including a bad knee collision a few days ago. instantly knew it was out but was still able to carry out my regular exercises the next little while without over compensating so i had hoped it wasn’t as bad as i initially thought. went in to check it out and my physio confirmed that my gut feeling was correct. getting both my knee cap popped back in place and wrist taken care of was painful as ever, but it had to be done. he gave me the hardest task possible and threatened i musnt make my knee cap out of place again. i will continue my long mission to search for ways to protect my knees keep them from shifting

day 475 – physioterrorist

image

wrist took a series of unfavorable blows this past week which caused it to be pretty much next to useless. though my left hand is much weaker in comparison, it is used extensively and losing function changes all complexity. driving is made tenfold more difficult since i am a left handed driver.  a much needed check up with my physio to fix that ailing wrist and seized up leg. after some excruciating pain, i was told to stay put for next twenty four hours and do nothing beyond walking and heat pad

day 313 – gym with restraints

image

i feel like i have been jailed far too long. hitting the gym for the first time in long stretch since sustaining my injury. been issued plenty of restraints that i am not to do anything involving my legs and will continue to be banned until further notice. sports is my passion and an integral part of my life and without it, my life is nothing but bland. i can’t help but feel hopelessness and wish someone wakes me up when all is better

day 300 – deja vu

image

just as i thought my knee has turned the corner and fitted back in its groove, it pops back out of place. completely abused by my physio’s physical manipulation while he forcefully pushes it back into place. him at his best continually pushing my pain tolerance. restrictions order in effect that physical activity is not permitted and permission of activities must be granted. it’s also my 300th day post to date
