day 2135 – champs elysees

today was dedicated shopping day walking down both rue du rivoli and champs elysees. i didn’t buy any designer handbags but i did buy a pair of shoes and some t-shirts. i’m so glad the weather cooperated today since it was all outdoor walking. i guess i shouldn’t be buying much since this trip itself is already costing quite a bit. also, the longer i’ve been away and the more frustrated i am with how some things are dealt with. i’d cut the trip short if i had that option

day 2029 – sick day

instead of going into work, i stayed at home all day because i woke up with a headache, sore throat and the feeling that i’m fending off an oncoming cold. after calling in sick at 7am, i managed to sleep until past 1pm. sleeping fourteen hours is a really, really rare occasion since i usually get six or less. i logged a total of less than two thousand steps so my fitbit probably thought i was dying

day 1938 – taikwun

a full day of fun hanging out with friends. i can’t say enough about how much i appreciate them taking time out to chill during my visit. it’s too bad we didn’t get to go up to the peak, but there was so much more we could explore and eat. we toured around the former hong kong prison and police station, walked around central area, then all the way to causeway bay. the eating tour continues which started with famous egg tarts and finished off with some curry beef omlette. another twenty five thousand steps logged which is good cause i have lots of calories waiting to be burned

massive golden ears hike

a september hike at golden ears park to close off this year’s hiking season. getting lost was basically the adventure of the day. what was suppose to be a sub ten kilometre hike turned into an over twenty-five kilometres. we were quick to comment how well marked the trail was, but somehow we accidentally went off into unmarked territory. we hiked through mosses, climbed over fallen tree stumps and crossed rivers. i was very intrigued by the orange fungi atop the trees, but didn’t dare take any home for i was warned there’s a lot of poisonous mushrooms out there. an hour an a half drive back home and i was exhausted. i definitely got my exercise and step count in today. at the end of it all, what was most important was i made it back in time to clean up for a wedding reception

day 1859 – golden ears park

i needed all the rest i could get the day after doing a massive unplanned hike of over eight hours. what was suppose to be an easy nine kilometre hike turned into an off route, stream crossing hike of over twenty five. a day where i amassed forty one thousand steps is by far the highest my fitbit ever registered. i don’t want to move for anything or anyone, and pretty much stayed stationary most of the day

day 1831 – woodland walk

bonding time with coworkers out at coquitlam woodland walk trail. this hike wasn’t suppose to take five hours to complete, but it did. there weren’t any clear markers; i can see why there’s not many people on this trail. getting lost, going off route, going into private property and back tracking was what we did a lot of. the end of the hike was rewarding as we found a nice waterfall all to ourselves. it was tiring in the heat, but it was worth the sweat and we’re already planning the next one

day 1751 – ultimate sub

it’s been a few years since a last played ultimate, but here i am subbing a double header. so much running and cardio involved in this sport; reminds me why it’s not my top pick. by the end of the two games, i had taken over seven thousand steps. i guess i wasn’t as tired as i would’ve been if it wasn’t for all that sunrun training. it took half the first game to get my lingo back and after i settled in, it turns out to be lots of fun
