day 2485 – rogue sponsored

one of my quarantine project was to build a squat rack that stands out from the rest of the diy’s. though it’s only about ninety percent complete, i’m really happy with how it’s turning out. it looks sick and everything i had imagined in my head. the only downfall of the rack is certain parts of the wood can chip easily simply because it’s exposed to heavy contact. it’s been a fun experience full of learning, from design to modeling to woodworking to constructing to spray painting. along the topic of fitness, i made a decision to start my bubble tea ban today because i’m starting a sixty day cut. during this time i’ll eat clean and be disciplined with my intake

day 2475 – sneak peak

quarantine really got me turning the different creativity juices to entertain myself in every way possible. a sneak peak at what’s to come for add ons. even though it doesn’t enhance the functionality nor the resell value of the piece, it would be so rad if it turns out the way i imagine it in my head. i hope i can continue to put this to good use even after the society returns to a new normal, and if not, it was still fun

day 2474 – diy squat rack

did the runs but skipped the lifting portion and made it a squat rack building day. the whole process was smooth sailing and we only had two minor hiccups. both sides of the vertical posts turned out perfectly leveled and almost identical so it should be very fun here on. the whole construction took less than two hours, but we stuck around to monitor the water level in the drying concrete

day 2469 – visualization

i wasted no time the moment training squad decided to build our own squat rack. i quickly whipped up a sketchup model of how our next diy project will look like and how much material we need to obtain. i take a lot of pride in being able to do mock ups and visualization. my passion for modelling seeps through; it shows the type of attachment i have for the skillset i’ve developed through my work

day 2444 – diy squat rack

staying off olympic lifting to give my shin and shoulders a break doesn’t mean i will stop completely. i had to think outside the box to create my own squat rack so i could back squat. kept the workout short and sweet and did a quick five by five squat session. i put on all the weights i borrowed; it wasn’t heavy, but it was a decent amount where i could get a workout out of it as part of some maintenance work. the recycle bin lid had a dent, but it’s worth it

day 1934 – hotel gym

i’m pleasantly surprised as i walked into my hotel gym to see a squat rack and bench rack. i immediately claimed the squat rack because i was afraid someone else would steal it from me. despite the ghetto equipment, the gym was very well equipped with the exception of lack of stretching mats and space. i had a leg day, not that hong kong isn’t already full of cardio from all the walking. it’s funny i’ve been lifting for over five years and could close my eyes and know the weights in imperial, but had much trouble converting the plates in kilograms

day 1454 – lonely corner

the cage may be full, but the squat rack on the other side of the gym wasn’t. besides being in the stuffy side, it’s not so bad here. in fact, i kind of like being alone in this lonely corner where i can be me. i must admit i felt the heaviness after enduring the past couple days. my back and hip is feeling funky; must have been the jolt from yesterday’s game. what’s on my glute doesn’t seem like it’s just a normal bruise. had to cut workout short before i do some extra damage to myself. it was nice to walk the park with good old buddy just to catch up and unload
