day 2479 – squamish drive

i was pretty bummed out the weather cancelled my tennis plans. instead of sitting around wasting my saturday, my friend and i decided to take a road trip up to squamish to pick up the plates another friend offered to lend me. it was a long drizzly drive, but it was nice to take shadow out for what might possibly be my last road trip with him. we got home and couldn’t wait to put the weights to good use – a one rep max kind of session. from the get go, i said i would be satisfied being able to deadlift one hundred and eighty five but i went on to attempt a twenty hundred and five which was a no go

hiking adventure – stawamus chief

wouldn’t be making good use of my summer time and the abundance of sunshine vancouver has to offer if i wasn’t out doing summery things. wouldn’t want to let another summer go by without having done the stawamus chief, so i was going all out this weekend. no taking it easy even though its my first time, might as well get my money’s worth by doing all three peaks in one go. the beginning leading up to the trail split felt like an endless climb of stairscases and it probably was to a certain degree, by the end i climbed well over two hundred flights of stairs. really enjoyed the chains and ladder part and would have had better use of my spiderman skills if people in front of me were mildly faster. downhill portion was a knee buster for my bad knees, and they didn’t stop short of letting me know. part of the fun is to pose for obligatory selfies at every peak, and doing many stupid things along the way. this was an eye opener to do longer and more intermediate terrains, it was definitely another worthwhile hike. looking forward to doing one more long one before summer begins to wind down

posing at peak two cause i am asian. all hiked out and legs ready to give in after completing a tiring three peak hike that took just over five hours. it was endless climbing of a natural stair master of over two hundred flights of stairs but in the end the breathtaking view made it all worthwhile. second peak stood out for me because the obstacles and the awesome view really capped it off. it was like parkour, i always knew had a little spiderman in me
