it’s been a few years since a last played ultimate, but here i am subbing a double header. so much running and cardio involved in this sport; reminds me why it’s not my top pick. by the end of the two games, i had taken over seven thousand steps. i guess i wasn’t as tired as i would’ve been if it wasn’t for all that sunrun training. it took half the first game to get my lingo back and after i settled in, it turns out to be lots of fun
my first real long run in three years and quite possibly my first ever run in the rain. nailed the sunrun distance like i set out to do and pleased with the result. my legs were spent from the ten kilometre run, followed by five hour taekwondo shift and then some hockey. i could barely move halfway through the day and expect it to get worse tomorrow. i guess i didn’t exactly think it through before committing to all in one day, but that’s kind of how i roll. in the meantime, there’s lot of rolling to be done
mom’s yummy ramen for early dinner before playing volleyball. my life revolved around a lot of sports, but volleyball was never a focus sport for me. i last played it back in highschool and i don’t think my skills have declined since then. there’s no subbing out for us girls; so after an hour and a half of bump-set-spikes, my forearm was moderately discoloured. this will be a weekly activity playing in a league that rotates between multiple sports. i look forward to the variety of sports as well of the variety of people i come across
the bubble tea hopping around richmond continues with the tea mates. it’s no secret that i’m picky with my food; ordered the chocolate waffle cone but switched out the chocolate ice cream for matcha ice cream. i loved the ice cream even when at minus 6 and snowing. i tell myself it’s okay to have luxury as long as i’m keeping up with my activities and active lifestyle which i always have. the chilling out was then followed by a dodgeball night and then a hockey game. closed out the vachl regular season against familiar foes by adding to my point total
expected nothing short of crowds at cypress after some significant snowfall in the city. long lineups with freezing temperature, but still very fun learning how to carve properly. sunny day with lots of powder, but all the accumulated wipeouts are still pretty harsh. i’m slightly addicted to skiing and boarding and i want to keep going until the season end. but first, i have to stop at physio to fix up my whole body that’s beaten up from so much activity all week long; my physio will not be impressed that he has to attend to so many body parts
third last game of the season for fishsticks so filling the scoresheet is what i needed. i did exactly that tonight, taking the lead in my bet with a one goal two assist night. i was tired heading into the game having worked from nine to eight with a two hour gap in between teaching shift and promotion test, but not so tired after such good production. i’m sure i’ll feel the fatigue even more tomorrow trying to wake up for my 7:30am shift after a late game. i’m just happy that i feel like i’m rounding into form again as playoffs are ramping up.
got my sticks newly cut and taped for my real return to fishsticks since october. it’s been quite the wait, painful to say the least, but that’s what makes every shift that much more precious. though we had a really short bench, we skated hard until the end and got a few back. i felt good out there knowing i didn’t forget how to play or skate. i had fun on the ice and that’s all i asked for, the point was a bonus. the point race puts a little friendly fire so to push us to work harder to earn the bet
