day 1773 – take flight

the day didn’t start off well. i packed everything in the morning, everything i needed for the day except for my purse. even though the day started off on the wrong foot, it ended fairly well. officially taken flight to be a part of this club. it was on my small, medium, larrge list and now i’ve taken steps forward. back on the floor to work on things i want to learn and even of things i never heard of. it’s now a priority so i’ll make time to be here, but i’ll keep in mind that flipping and hockey on the same day isn’t a great idea

day 1772 – six innings

fielded only six innings against wombats before time cap because we struggled to get outs. it was a little windy and fielding more than not didn’t allow me to stay warm and into the game. even at the plate, i didn’t have a good swinging night with two walks and two infield outs. if i recall correctly, wombats are in tier c. we’re still sitting at two wins thus far but we still had fun like we always do. encouraging signs that everyone is still learning and improving as each game goes by

day 1768 – squint softball

mother nature has its way with softball sundays. it was raining during our season opener weekend and no different today for our early morning double header. layering up with baselayers and sweats to stay warm from the rain. double header was followed by an evening hockey game. as if my body wasn’t aching and stiff enough, add a stiff and swollen ankle to the mix after blocking a shot

day 1765 – kp time

decided living off tape to walk normally wasn’t sustainable, so went in to the clinic to fix my neck, knee and ankle. i walked into physio clinic with many things that was either tight or wasn’t feeling right, but walked out with assurance i’ll be able to move properly again. crazy its been twenty years since my physio opened this clinic and even crazier thinking what i would have done the past fourteen years if it weren’t for him. i hope he never retires so i can continue to ham with everything i do and everything i want to do

day 1751 – ultimate sub

it’s been a few years since a last played ultimate, but here i am subbing a double header. so much running and cardio involved in this sport; reminds me why it’s not my top pick. by the end of the two games, i had taken over seven thousand steps. i guess i wasn’t as tired as i would’ve been if it wasn’t for all that sunrun training. it took half the first game to get my lingo back and after i settled in, it turns out to be lots of fun 

day 1698 – rainy runĀ 

my first real long run in three years and quite possibly my first ever run in the rain. nailed the sunrun distance like i set out to do and pleased with the result. my legs were spent from the ten kilometre run, followed by five hour taekwondo shift and then some hockey. i could barely move halfway through the day and expect it to get worse tomorrow. i guess i didn’t exactly think it through before committing to all in one day, but that’s kind of how i roll. in the meantime, there’s lot of rolling to be done

day 1694 – chashu ramen


mom’s yummy ramen for early dinner before playing volleyball. my life revolved around a lot of sports, but volleyball was never a focus sport for me. i last played it back in highschool and i don’t think my skills have declined since then. there’s no subbing out for us girls; so after an hour and a half of bump-set-spikes, my forearm was moderately discoloured. this will be a weekly activity playing in a league that rotates between multiple sports. i look forward to the variety of sports as well of the variety of people i come across
