day 2318 – cloudkicks battle

i can’t say i’m not disappointed i cannot participate in any of the cloudkicks events and workshops this weekend. a rough november full of injuries and accidents didn’t leave much hope for me to train or participate in anything. the least i could do is to sit on the sidelines and watch everyone else have fun. it’s was a treat to watch all the crazy tricks and battles happen before my very eyes. hopefully next year this time, i’ll have some improved body parts to work with

day 1067 – hillcrest

i haven’t taught at richmond for a long long time. got my full day of teaching in today starting at 9:30am and it wasn’t too bad at all. after a long shift, i revisited hillcrest to watch some drop in which reminded me of the hillcrest gym days i used to have. the area was busy with vancouver canadians playing as well. it was disappointing that even though the facility is newer and nicer, it wasn’t equipped with the heater like sunset rink

day 983 – spectating

i have watched a whack load of hockey through the decade, but never co-ed style. watching amateur hockey is very fascinating. the pace of it is nothing like what i am used to seeing, but it was entertaining in so many ways for it’s not just any other hockey game. the pace drops significantly when there’s a shift change. i laugh at the noobs, but it also makes me appreciate hockey more knowing the actual game is harder than it looks. kind of makes me want to give it a shot at some point when my schedule frees up and i can afford to take some risks.
