day 2379 – squatter problems

excited to be back at apex after three weeks of hiatus. i couldn’t be whiny with what i was told to do. instead of doing three reps of my paused squats, he changed it to five reps with the same weight. also did a clean wave and it felt pretty good enough to work up to the blues. not that i don’t want to do squats, i like squatting, but i also knew i needed to trick and play hockey tomorrow night. i know i’m in trouble when my legs are already jelly coming home from the gym. i jumped on the vyper for half an hour before i gave it a rest

day 2274 – squat stance

working on the heavier squats after some hiatus. the past several weeks i kind of brushed it off because i either felt my legs were too fatigued or felt down from then injustice of my foot problems. it’s not like me to not feel like squatting or gyming in general, but life right now is just a struggle to stay afloat. no doubt the squats felt heavy, but i pushed through and expect to be sore waking up tomorrow. i’ll have to work extra hard to catch up with the programing

day 2230 – squatting game

i laid off my clean and squat workout regime ever since i had to prepare for my test, so i thought i’d take whatever i could muster. i started with cleans but it didn’t feel strong with my sore hip flexors felt sore, i decided to cut it short and be spontaneous with the weights. i did back squats for doubles all the way up to one forty five – where i thought i’d stop. spontaneous and curious, i kept going for singles and increased it by 2.5 pounds as i felt okay. had there been a spotter, i would’ve gone for a second rep

day 2191 – free friday

the day after making personal records deserves a bit of a rest. i still went to flightclub because i wanted to flip, but taking it easy on the training as my body works to recover. i let my body decide what it can do and didn’t push to do too much on the floor. i still did some x-out practice and ninja landing onto the blue mat. the rest of the evening was a chill one. even though i don’t have much planned, i was just glad to get the bc day long weekend started

day 2147 – back at flips

ever since i got back from my europe trip, my body has been experiencing nonstop and soreness. soreness from one thing hasn’t left my body and more soreness is added from another activity. i’m still really happy to be training again and seeing the people i’m used to doing flips with. working on arabians after hours because i haven’t landed anything in a long, long time. it’s definitely time to get a head start on some new moves and make better progress

day 2139 – back on the grind

i didn’t waste any time in getting back on the olympic lifting grind. not having snatched or cleaned for three weeks has had much effect on me. my workout consisted of both and i found both to be extra challenging. timing is everything for any olympic lift, every little segment of the lift matters in whether it’ll be a hit or miss. finished it off with some back squats. i didn’t do any heavy lifts today, but i anticipate i’ll be fairly sore after this workout

day 2114 – on the minute

so apparently there’s an apex pre-vacation special that no one’s told me about. anyone wishing to go on vacation would have to get through special grueling workouts leading up to it. today i experienced it with twenty on the minute snatches, a hundred kettle bell squats, then finish off with pullups and leg levers. i was already weak and achy after being bed ridden, but i thoroughly couldn’t feel my body by the end of the session. my body aches in so many ways i do not expect to move well tomorrow. i guess i have to earn my vacation
