day 1758 – cad conversions

it’s quite the feeling holding onto these sets of drawings knowing i’m over sixty percent through. cad conversion is almost a project on its own that i started managing last year. it’s tedious and mundane work but it must be done for the greater good. i’ve utilized much manpower to get to this point – one full time, one part time and two intern students. hoping that my new summer intern can get what’s left done and we can put this project behind us once and for all

day 1566 – tech signage

tech team signage is now up and hanging over my workstation. working on a statutory holiday for a swap day because there’s too much to do for the amount of time i’m have during regular hours. logging another eleven and a half hours to get my millennial drawings into the plant for production. it’s great to hear that manager likes expressing things to me; said i’m trustworthy person to vent to and probably valued my insight. as a result, i’ve also found it much easier to open up to him to mutually support each other

day 1484 – overtiming

staying late at work to rush some drawings for stacy garcia meeting. workload has been a little overwhelming the last little while especially with manager away. it’s great that i’m stepping up to  take on more responsibility and that he’s shown more trust, but it comes more overtimes and frequent lunch breaks are not taken. it is exciting that i will have this collection tagged in my portfolio; who knew i’d be designing a whole line of casegoods? maybe this serves as the distraction away from decision making with the grandmaster

day 1295 – another move

the department has had a lot of changes since the new manager stepped in. my role has been flipped upside down and i’m not on a team anymore. i’m on my own transitioning into developing a new collection of drawings and renderings. this will be a good change and a good challenge for myself. and although my desk has been relocated, the same desk setup still applies
