day 1998 – shin splints

the shin splints got really bad today. i had a really hard time at taekwondo, but still had a hockey game to play afterwards. we were so short of skaters this game; we just rolled the skaters since we could only muster two on the bench. right before hockey, i did a retape and also did a combination of heat pad and vyper rolling. not helping the shin by having hockey on back to back nights

day 915 – stacking it up

having a little faith in my ability and putting it to the test on unpadded surface. stacking up to seven plates on this night and successfully making it to the top unscathed. first attempt and first success is always deserving of a victory pose and casual step off. the first jump is always the hardest not because of the physical hurdle, but the mental one. not bad when i’m still nursing those messed up shins, but that hardly stops me much. i’ll be aiming higher next time and each time after that

day 913 – off limits

i had to stay away from legs exercises all week long because of my shin issues, today was no exception. it hasn’t allowed me to walk or drive properly, let alone handle any lower body exercises – trust me, i was crazy enough to try. a couple days of inactivity and so called rest, and i’m sad to say my legs are still off limit. i still got to do what i got to do, so i guess today is yet another upper body day. i’m almost begging my shins to heal up so i can go about my business

day 188 – physio time

timely visit to my physio to fix up my swollen ankle that randomly swelled up over the festive weekend. still not sure what i did to injure it again but as frustrating as it is, nothing will stop me now. this is just another challenge i must face and face the obstacles ahead, listen to my heart and be passionate with what i do
