day 1849 – la foret

marcom meeting at la foret to plan out the upcoming dodgeball season. it’s good to get together once in a while to make sure everything is clear and understand what’s expected of each person. i’m not big on cakes and pastries most of the time but i took home a raspberry mousse cake because i’m under the impression that the cakes and pastries here are very well known. i shared the piece with my parents and they both loved it. i guess delicacy like this is okay once in a while

day 895 – koala attack

image

the camerawoman dropped me a mail this morning to showcase what was captured at last night’s rdl drop in. some crazy people started pouncing on me the moment i entered the gym as a way to show their love, or the love for my koalas. all i wanted was to be at peace with my koalas, but that wish was not granted. i do spend a fair share of time with the dodgeball community, and this is the kind of bond we have

day 798 – free turkey

image

a bizarre way of marketing for a physio clinic but i guess that being bizarre also catches people’s attention. this day and age, people are coming up with some of the most random ideas. not sure if i would do it just for the turkey, i wouldn’t have any use for the turkey since there’s no turkey feast this thanksgiving. having turkey is great, but i’d much rather not have turkey meals for the five days that follows

day 793 – nacho feast

image

not much in the taco world is healthy but going in with an intent to stay away from as much oily fried food as i can – but this happened. i hope my digestive system and body won’t overreact too much after this feast. it’s been way too long since i had nachos i almost forgot how it’s suppose to taste like. it was flavourful and tasted awesome in many ways, but i will stay try to keep my distance

resolution series: [eighteen] connections

image

i have said it again and again, and i will say it again. first decade of your life everyone you meet is either your friend or your enemy. second decade is when you learned a little better, have a large group of friends even though you learned not to hastily call everyone friends. beyond the first two decades is when you have to figure out who your friends really are as you will no longer have a ginormous list of friends. because you will soon realize that people will start disappearing and there isn’t enough time to go around for everyone. don’t get me wrong i am not an introvert; i do believe in networking and i find ways to develop my network whenever i can. with that said, i value all the different social groups and population i meet through an assortment that stretches across many breadths and fields. i am completely aware that my list of friends are shrinking but i have now realized that i only need a handful of close buddies that i can turn to in any situation at any point in time and they will be there for me no matter what happens. working hard to surround myself with the right people that will be a positive impact to my life and stay true to my real friends because they are the ones i want to grow old with. i am working hard to becoming a greater influence whenever my friends are in need of a pick me up moment. true friends don’t let you fall alone, i would know because they picked me back up countless times

day 668 – shaved ice

image

i never knew this place existed even though i unknowingly pass by it all the time. i heard the calling for late night dessert on saturday night at ice pik after a long brisk walk to earn extra calorie intake. trying some green tea shaved ice with mochi balls, grass jelly, lychee, mango bits all mixed together in a paper bowl. so glad this was shared between two cause it’s very filling and not exactly calorie friendly

day 651 – ramen fix

image

my first time at gyoza bar and had been meaning to try this place since its existence but never found a good excuse to do so. i couldn’t turn down an invite to dine with my mom so here i was sharing orders of chicken ramen, tofu salad and shrimp gyozas. the food lived up to its name gyoza bar because the shrimp gyozas was simply delicious. actually, everything on the table tasted pretty good, my mom even commented the waiter was pretty good looking too

day 231 – sandwich board

image

on one of my random wandering moments because it was nice and sunny outside. spotted this along my walk and thought it was a joke worth sharing. why can’t i stand up, because i am too tired. yes, that’s how my legs feel like after leg day or all those exercises my kinesiologist makes me do
