my little hospitality design minion invited me over to her place for my belated birthday celebration. we had our long overdue catch up chat while enjoying our steak salad and roasted veggies. after our delicious dinner, we went out for an evening stroll while the sun set behind us. the perks of living in olympic village is the seawall is literally her backyard. i’m very thankful i was out today to take my mind off things that’s causing my stress level to rise
today is one of those hot and humid spring days that makes me think spring just ended and summer is well on its way. the temperature peaked at 26 during mid day; i was already sweating as i was standing inside the gym about to begin my warm up. i am ready to get my tan started earlier than last year. i am looking forward to this summer; there’s so many exciting things waiting ahead this season
i need not to step outside my house to get a feeling of how cold it is out there. the spider web outside my backyard says it all. upon closer view, i don’t even see the spider manning its web, maybe it died of hypothermia. with this kind of temperature, i will gladly stay indoor in the comfort of my own home wrapped up in my cozy bed. i guess my only excuse is my legs are somewhat tired from that skiing i had done
spending the last of 2015 near canada place enjoying beautiful holiday lights before some highly anticipated midnight fireworks. the night was so cold, two brisk walks along the seawall was more than enough to get us frozen head to toe. 2015 was good for the most part, but i know that 2016 will be the best year yet. ready to take on bigger challenges that will get me past levels i have come far too comfortable at staying within
sneaking in a stroll in between the rain and sitting upon the rocks on the lookout at the thick clouds that hover over the mountain. weird couple months of extremities for vancity, first suffering from a drought and depleting reservoir, then floods, fallen trees and power outages from rainstorms and even snow on the mountain. is this the year the vancouver is due for a decent ski season??
walking along side the waterfront in the afternoon and couldn’t help but notice the size differential of the two boats. when a cruise ship and a speed boat is put side by side, it makes the reference of a fish and a shark. reminds me of the time i went on an alaskan cruise where i was trapped on the ship with insurmountable food which almost made me sick. yes, so much food every day, every hour, every waking second, i thought i’d get seriously ill from seeing food
a sleep deprived me on at the start of another week needed to get some fresh air before i get too comfortable and fall asleep. it was so hot last night i think i only managed roughly three hours of sleep. decided to walk the seawall this afternoon under the heat. feels a lot like baking in an oven when directly under the sun, maybe a blistering hot summer to come??
wondering what this grand princess cruise ship is doing at canada place since i heard they aren’t allowing cruises to depart from this dock anymore. it’s so much more massive than the zuiderdam i was on when i cruised to alaska. seeing all the people wheeling suitcases around the dock makes me believe i need vacation soon. it’s been way too long since my last one i am super exhausted without the work life balance
pink is the name of the game on antibullying day. tonight i made a detour to pass by the five sails because it was lit up pink. it was cold, so as long as you are bundled up, walking along the seawall at night is very nice and calming. the refractions of colours in the water sums up the stillness of the night. i am sure it’s more beautiful in the spring and summer time
gorgeous weather in late january with very mild temperatures this winter season which could be both good and bad. sunshine calls for nice stroll out although it can get a little too breezy along the seawall. but also because weather has been mild, it hasn’t allowed me to hit the slopes for skiing yet. i will take it as long as it’s not wet and rainy like what vancouver is notorious for
