day 1698 – rainy run 

my first real long run in three years and quite possibly my first ever run in the rain. nailed the sunrun distance like i set out to do and pleased with the result. my legs were spent from the ten kilometre run, followed by five hour taekwondo shift and then some hockey. i could barely move halfway through the day and expect it to get worse tomorrow. i guess i didn’t exactly think it through before committing to all in one day, but that’s kind of how i roll. in the meantime, there’s lot of rolling to be done

day 1696 – treading 

originally feeling pretty crummy after a day of work and taekwondo combo, and really didn’t feel like going to do any running. the perfect sign of gym rat when you autonomously drive and end up at the gym. since i was already there i might as well give it my best shot at completing today’s pre-planned workout. as i was running, i was confused why i even wanted to do this in the first place. i felt a weird appreciation for myself for having made it through the duration even when i did not want to. the size of the task wasn’t the focal point, but the fact i took on something that was challenging to me. i left the gym all smiles, but for sure feeling much better than i walked in

day 1670 – morning run 

treadmill in the morning is something i’d only do for the sunrun. i felt better than a typical day despite running fasted. no surprise i grabbed a smoothie to replenish and on my way to teach. my typical saturday is basically run and gun until dinner time so my ramen with parents is well earned. i’m no marathon runner and i don’t see myself ever transforming into one, but i’ll put up with it for as long as i can. i signed up for this challenge, so i’m going to keep going because what i put in is what i’ll get out of it

day 1666 – green apple 


setting aside some time to do my run training since the sun run is only two months out. my lungs were clearly not used to all this cardio, i don’t know how people run the marathons or do ironman. though it’s sunny, the subzero temperature and icy ground doesn’t make it sense to be running outside. on my way to the gym i spotted a green apple mercedes on the road

day 1663 – full body

getting a run in this morning before my teaching shift and hockey game. it wasn’t a pretty game; was in a really big collision square in the chest that gave my back a hard jolt and that winded me. being me, i didn’t miss a shift, but i’ll need to tend to it after the game. safe to say i punished my legs beyond maximum capacity so trying to all types of remedies i can think of. ending my day with a spa-like set up going through relaxation and full body massage so i can go at it again tomorrow

day 1656 – sweats and frees

saturdays are sweatpants and frees kind of day because i’m in a judge free zone. running around all day, literally, and it was a very brisk run that also included an eye appointment and none other than taekwondo. i’m experiencing some dryness and haze so will require another follow up appointment sooner than expected. it’s not alarming, but not what i wanted to hear
