day 1792 – supreme me

ate a late night banana and hope i don’t get leg cramps overnight after a night of flipping and hockey sandwiched with a quick dinner. got a chance to test out my newly acquired supreme shin pads and i like the coverage. overall, my line played a good game despite getting hit in the ribs with a slapshot during warmup. i felt it immediately and hunched over for a good while and the fact adrenaline hasn’t clicked in wasn’t a good feeling. it hit hit directly in unpadded territory between my pants and chest protector. i’ll definitely see the big bruise tomorrow morning

day 1377 Рbirthday smoothie

had another visit to the chiropractor office to treat my ribs. very little range of motion and a lot of discomfort throughout the whole work day, but some it calmed down after getting adjusted. sipping on my birthday smoothie helps make up for some of the pain i’m experiencing. i know chiro wanted to say no but he saw that i was adamant on playing dodgeball and gave me a cautious okay sign. i just really wanted to play even though i knew it would hurt

day 1375 – over it

these things inadvertently keep me up at night. it’s been in the back of my mind recently and today put me over the top. perhaps i’m emotionally tired from tylenoling myself for the three jammed ribs. one thing i’ve set on is giving up on expectations of certain things if the importance was never placed to begin with. i don’t feel the same and i’m frustrated, but at the same time indifferent because i’m not about to press for something that cannot be attained. i’ve learned it was never there for me and if it mattered it’d stick

day 1238 – physio fix

image

i needed this physio visit badly enough to call for an emergency appointment. my chest and back was feeling slightly improved upon waking up but still much too impaired. when physio pressed against my ribs and collar bone, i was in a lot of discomfort and couldn’t grasp for air. i know i still need more rest; i’ll take it day by day and feel optimistic that this will get better soon. for all the years he’s treated me, he still shakes his head at me and occasionally scolds me, but is never surprised with what kind of injuries i put up with

back at home with a hot shower and just chilling with the need to do some reflection. thanks to chiropractor on site for putting my two ribs back into place so i can play my games today. i wasn’t hallucinating nor exaggerating when i complained my back and neck was out but of course i can only say so much before i realize it’s pointless. i’ve decided on a few things so i don’t get unnecessarily hurt
