day 2396 – cartwheel back

i was feeling a little lazy and slightly unwell ever since my abbreviated gym session in the morning. i’m really glad i still went to open gym because i came out with a very big reward. ever so grateful that the coach spent time helping me out with both my standing back tucks and my cartwheel back tucks. he who believed i could do it on the floor and urged me to do so by setting up progression stations. he’s the reason i landed my cartwheel back tuck on floor tonight. life is kind of crazy. the same move that tore my foot happened exactly a year ago today; i thought i had to quit for good. i’m beyond happy i came full circle and landed what i thought i could never ever accomplish ever again

day 2247 – kip up

i was forced to re-train aerials because my ankle was feeling wonky after a landing. big surprise came as my long lost aerial, that wasn’t even close to landing for weeks, felt super solid on blue mat today. the bonus of the session came at the end when thought i’d get a few reps of kip ups in to close the night. somehow it just started to click today; i fluked the first one and fluked another half a dozen. i’m reminded that sometimes reward comes simply from being stubborn and persistent about training and getting reps in. i’m hoping that’s the case for some of the other moves i’m chasing

day 2073 – pearl fever

i happily holding onto my bubble reward for the twenty back tucks i was challenged to do. the perfect reward to end a frustrating and stressful week that made me want to walk out. i didn’t have any appetite even though i was hungry. i’m glad i didn’t go straight home and instead hung out with my friends to wind up the friday night. this would be my first milk tea from the highly touted pearl fever and it didn’t disappoint. the thirty percent sweet was perfect and just how i like it even though my friend who bought it didn’t think so

day 1965 – star performer

img_20200130_2158157420023399569796739.jpgi must say getting a star performer plaque for the year was the pleasant surprise. it has been a crazy stressful year. many days i just go about my business and work my butt to make all the deadlines. it’s good to know that the hardwork and dedication to hold this fort down didn’t go unnoticed. and this year i showed up to harrison to represent the design tech team

day 1564 – warehouse sale

happily shopping for shoes to reward myself for a job well done. went shoe frenzy and tried on many to find the one that i couldn’t go wrong with. in the past i’ve neglected my own well-being and overlooked many of my desires because i was made to not feel important. i learn to grow, i learn to be stronger, and more importantly i learn to live to be treated the way it should be. over the next little while i will change up my priorities to be sure i put myself as one

day 1555 – team outing

design team is rewarded a team bonding event for what we’ve been able to pull together even when under staffed. we chose to make a trip down to tsawwassen mills for some adventure, food and bowling. just a fun event outside of work setting where we could all just be friends. contemplated if i should have bowled, even though bowling only requires one hand. i did it anyway because i’ve had enough of sitting on the sideline. i just had to be super careful so not to have any unnecessary setback

day 501 – execs unite

hungry executives celebrating the completion of season 18 at water kitchen in gastown. vdl’s human resources surprised us all with christmas presents, as each of us was rewarded with a pair of the newest vdl apparel personalized with our own initials. must admit i am relieved that we are at the season’s end because this season hasĀ been really stressful balancing out all my commitments and tasks, i really need the extra time just to get away from my neverending commitments
