day 986 – my cup of tea

imagecame down with a nasty cough, headache and later found out i have a 39 degrees fever. got plentiful of rest throughout the day coupled with lots of honey lemon water and drugs. my personal nurse made a surprise visit and came in through my front door to meet my folks for the first time. glad he’s always watching out for me and bringing me more than just medications when i need it most

day 978 – carb loading

back in town from a self satisfying trip down portland. first off, post competition breakfast carb loading with my man. competition prep period had its millions of sacrifices and restrictions which made some days painstakingly hard to get through. i haven’t eaten so much in a meal in so long, i forget how bread and potatoes amongst many other things taste like. i’ll give myself a couple days off to indulge in things i couldn’t have had during that phase, but won’t be long before i have to live with those restrictions again in pursuit of my next big event

day 913 – off limits

i had to stay away from legs exercises all week long because of my shin issues, today was no exception. it hasn’t allowed me to walk or drive properly, let alone handle any lower body exercises – trust me, i was crazy enough to try. a couple days of inactivity and so called rest, and i’m sad to say my legs are still off limit. i still got to do what i got to do, so i guess today is yet another upper body day. i’m almost begging my shins to heal up so i can go about my business

day 720 – day after wwtd

i had so much fun yesterday i almost forgot about walk with the dragon that also happened. i was not convinced two hours of rehearsal the morning of will do any good, especially in the blazing heat where i wasn’t the only one who thought we would get a heat stroke. i have to keep an eye out for concussion symptoms after being back hook kicked in the jaw during the demo. perhaps taking this week off any strenuous activities which is also a good opportunity to rest up my banged up body is the right thing to do

day 669 – circuit

haven’t been to gym for a while because i needed a recovery week and break after having completed my promotion test. no break between training for competition and blackbelt test so got permission for a well deserved time off. went through an exhausting circuit this afternoon and thoroughly tired. jumping back straight into a crazy workout usually gets me pretty sore next day. it is a good way to close off a successful month but the training commences again and nothing gets easier from here on

day 620 – cardio mode

after having early morning saturday, my mind and body wasn’t up for more 8am exercise on sunday. somehow i still found a way to get my sorry butt on the treadmill this evening. the vancouver sunrun is exactly a week away, so if not now, then when?? i guess after tonights run, it’s time to taper off and rest up by so i don’t over exert myself before the actual run

day 616 – pin ups

this meeting is no joke. the boardroom is cluttered with images and diagrams pinned up on the walls ready for our visioning session. wednesday always seems so hard to get through, although which days aren’t long for me nowadays?? my legs are sore so i am just watching the clock tick away and looking forward to heading home and hopefully do things that lets me stay off my feet
