day 2186 – self journal reflect

a friend of mine has recently made me buy in on decluttering. took the morning to do a clean up of my room and only got through a portion of it. i got rid of a number of things i won’t be using again and listed new or almost new items on facebook marketplace. being the end of week four, i had a bit of reflection time for my self journal. i must say i’ve done a pretty terrible job the past two weeks. i really need to do a better job of staying on track and being diligent with my choices

day 1991 – killarney rings

another term of killarney started today. like any start of a new term, the first day is always busy tending to new students and registrations. i sit in the empty dojo after everyone filed out and reflected on the day. i’m happy that the enrolment has grown this term; the number of registrants across saturday class is more than any previous terms since my instructor days began. i’m very happy that my taekwondo class has reached more people than ever before and looking to continue growing this sport and business as a whole

day 1900 – silly saturday

spent much time thinking and assessing how the things that’s become a norm in my life has shaped me. also spent some time reminiscing the summer time and times when i could go hike with the girls. it is not too cold to be out for hikes, beaches and barbecues, not to mention it gets dark by six. i didn’t do all that i wanted to this summer and now i’ll have to wait until the next summer rolls around. in the meantime, it’s time to start thinking about winter activities and how i could stay warm

day 1614 – big cheers

time really does fly by quickly and another three hundred and sixty five posts later, it’s the eve again. as every year comes to an end, i make reflections but the difference is how i plan for the upcoming. 2017 had its challenges and the latter part was tough being involved in many unfortunate events.  here’s a toast to hoping for a good 2018 where my pretentious goals and big dreams come true. happy new year and stay true to yourself

resolution series: [fourteen] personal space

having a busy schedule is good because that means i am always productive and proactive. my schedule is usually packed seven days a week, twenty four hours a day, and often needing more time in a day to squeeze everything in to accommodate everyone. it can also be very tiresome because i am always stepping on the gas pedal as hard as i can dashing from one errand to the next. but is accommodating and meeting everyone’s needs my top priority and the sole purpose of living? sometimes, i do wish to have more time for myself away from the rest of the world. aside from taking care of business in the public scheme of things, there are also planning, thinking and number crunching tasks that goes behind the scenes that often gets overlooked. these things tend to be handled in my spare time, which so happens to be time sacrificed from eating and sleeping. i like my personal space and enjoy time alone but it’s very hard to come by. when i am alone, i am able to sit there in silence and reflect on things while putting things into its proper perspective. i find being at the gym gives me that sense of privacy where i can plug in my headphones and shut off the rest of the world. the same can be found when training at taekwondo outside of class time, when all those annoying people don’t interfere at all the wrong times. it’s one of those moments that i will do my thing so don’t you dare come into my bubble while i am in my zone focusing on myself

day 195 – down time in downtown

taking some time off to refresh and wrap up all the grudge and negativity i hold as it is time to move on from the recent understanding or lack there of. wandering around and revisiting an area that i once spent countless hours during my studio. after briefly going down memory lane, a stop at the warehouse was in order
