being an avid basketball fan all these years, i’ve seen everything from the highlights to low-lights of nations basketball. none have been more fulfilling than watching the toronto raptors win the nba title. it’s an interesting feeling watching my two favourite teams going at it in the playoff finals. it was just amazing to watch the calibre of play. this season’s raptors left everything on the floor and found a way to take out the splash brother’s enroute to their well deserved championship
didn’t really celebrate mother’s day other than sending a whatsapp message to my mother who’s in hong kong spending it with her mother which i’m sure is very special for both of them. i didn’t feel like going out or doing much at all. it’s not like i could have gone to the gym to lift anyways. i was content to stay home and spent the afternoon watching an epic raptors game seven win. it’s great to see the raptors keep their playoff run alive
i have watched many of their games on television, so stoked to be watching this game on court side. both are amongst my favourite teams, so i wasn’t rooting for either side. seeing curry, thompson and derozan felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity. this is still preseason, but i hope that matchup happens again in the playoffs, rogers arena was jam packed; i also bumped into at least ten people i knew
paying cn tower and rogers centre a visit at night time because it just would not feel like a complete toronto trip without having this iconic picture somewhere. wish i had the time to catch a live bluejays game and it’s a pity the raptors got eliminated early in post season before i got a chance to watch an nba playoff game. it was a disappointing post season especially when they had such a good run in regular season
extremely happy to hear former raptors morris peterson was inducted into michigan state university hall of fame, and deservingly so. he was not the biggest superstar by all means, but he doesn’t have to be in order to be a player i enjoyed watching. here’s my hamber grad locker plate kept in mint condition and continues to hang on my room door to this day
growing up watching raptors basketball, mopete was amongst my favourite nba players. i admired the way he played the game no matter what the score dictated, how he treated his teammates on and off the court, and never let his fans down each and every game with his ironman streak. be remembered for everything plus the amazing number of 3 pointers, circus shots made and not to mention buzzer beaters. he was truly an inspiration and no doubt deserves this michigan hall of fame status.
