day 2421 – empty court

tennis is technically a self distancing sport so seemed like a low risk activity to do. the courts were empty on the normally popular van tech courts. it’s been so long since i last hit the courts so there was a lot of rust and not so much rally. my shins forgot how hard the pavement is and immediately felt the soreness hit. this is a sport i could play a lot more of even when all my leagues are down

day 1460 – hot tennis

my daily dosage of sports doesn’t stop even when tired. playing some rusty tennis in mid day heat probably isn’t the smartest choice, but it was spontaneous alternative to a bailed hike. two plus hours out in the heat hitting balls got me pretty dark. i can’t imagine a couple more times and i’ll have enough vitamin d to have some crazy tan lines. got some quiet time in the middle of the day and quality time at night because it just isn’t a sunday without having seen

day 664 – dusty rackets

shaking off the dusty rackets and bringing my rusty self to burnaby courts this evening. it’s been way too long since i last hit tennis balls hence it took so long to get some of the feeling back, but still far from the level of play it used to be. this is only the start of my tennis season, hoping this summer will be a good one full of hardcourt, squeaky shoes and whacking green balls
