day 2116 – minoru park

i took full advantage of a saturday off taekwondo by doing things i wouldn’t otherwise have the time for. i first took a trek out to a spa and had an acupressure massage. on my way home, i stopped at the supermarket to grab some vacation snacks and a quick bite. then, i met up with a few flightclubers for the highly anticipated maiko matcha float and that didn’t disappoint. after that, we camped out at minoru park where i was suppose to study for tomorrow’s pretest and flip or play only during my breaks, but it turns out i didn’t get through a single page in my study guide. instead, we spent a couple hours filming tricks as well as teaching them how to toss a frisbee disc. i’m pretty happy with the footage i got from the back flip and feel like it’s improved a little

day 1310 Рmatcha koala

thank you for bringing me koalas when i needed a spark in my day. getting the special delivery eases the tears because it made me feel special. it’s not easy to swallow the heartless things i received, but with time, open ears and tender loving care, i will be okay. it wasn’t the best of days, but i’ll hold my head up and continue to trek. in the meantime, i’ve got a competition to get to and lots of last minute packing to do

day 1074 – nighttide practice

image

after not having done it for exactly a year, i am working on my breaking again. if it all works out, i’ll do it for walk with the dragon demo; if not, i’ll just keep it in my back pocket and hope i have another opportunity to use it. i’ll be disappointed if it’s not ready by then, but i won’t force it and keep working on it knowing i am inching closer than last time. my vertical enables me to do things like this; living proof that my exercises are paying off and that makes me happy

day 1014 – packing away

image

i like going on vacations and i travel out to competitions often, but packing is not one of my favourite things to do. the crew and i are flying out to nationals tomorrow. i had all day to pack, but still never got around to it until night time rolled around. it’s late at night and i am finally struggling to gather the gear and things that i will be needing. let’s hope i can wake up early enough to double check because i am very forgetful

day 875 – nocturnal

image

doing my best work at 2am is not unlike me at all. at this hour, i am usually the most productive and that’s also when my creative juices flow more vividly. it’s a comparison between getting more stuff done in half an hour in the night time as opposed to five hours in the daytime. having a messed up body clock and being innately nocturnal doesn’t bother me but i know my liver doesn’t appreciate it, especially after being called out recently. there’s just less distractions to break the concentrations

day 775 – inflexibility

image

it’s that time of the month again, or the start of another training season that begins really soon. stretching for real for the first time for what must have been at least seven weeks to see how much flexibility i have lost. man, it’s not a good sign when my legs and joints are feeling this tight. it won’t be fun but i guess that’s what i pay for with my laziness and procrastination. one way or another, i will need to regain the flexibility back in a matter of days. the sporadic laziness during the so called offseason really doesn’t make my life any easier

day 772 – writing outline

image

have my competition outline all sketched out but not ready for submission since it’s all written on starbucks napkins. been postponing this tedious and always stressful process but finally took the initiation to sit down and plan it all out. no matter how long i put this off, i will still have to get it done cause it doesn’t do itself. offseason is officially over, let’s get 2015 competition training under way this september and hope for the best
