doing some wordwork in my backyard with the help of my dad while it’s sunny outside. it’s a rare occurrence to have spare time, but i made use of the moment and did a bunch of things that’s usually not a top priority. i started off the morning with power skating, did a thorough car wash and vacuum inside and out, and built some plyo boxes. i can’t wait to show them off once i have all the material to finish off the big boxes, but so far it’s turned out well
clearly someone taking scrimmage a little too seriously. the aftermath of a collision during powerskating scrimmage because a try-hard hit me not once, but twice. i took no exception to his second offense and decided to go straight for the bodycheck to knock him on his ass. i’m not sure what he’s trying to prove standing up against someone half his size, but its not welcome here. if i could, i would have knocked him over again because once just wasn’t enough to satisfied the rage inside
splitting time between powerskating in the morning and squirtle game in the evening. i probably should have been wise enough to take it off to rest up my sprained ankle and wrist; but who am i kidding? for as long as i can tape it up, my sports must go on. i find powerskating helpful and hope it translates in my game. i didn’t have the best of games because the opposing players coming down my wing were pretty quick and skilled
today was a lot of learning from taekwondo to skating. i have a great learning opportunity to attend a seminar held by korean national team coach. the only hurdle is the grandmaster speaks and writes in korean. he has a wealth of knowledge to share; his teaching and training style is very different than the norm. although some of it is very deep and philosophical, it gives me a much better idea of how poomsae should be practice. i jetted immediately after to join the intermediate power skating class. the class is much faster paced; we did things i’ve never done before, but i was told i learn quickly
it seems everyone is busy with super bowl sunday so there’s no meatheads to be seen. i had the whole cage to myself so i carried out my work using a pair of barbells. i decided my big weights for leg must go on after power skating, so even though skating session today was a tougher one than all previous times, i couldn’t change my mind. i knew i made a mistake of deciding to go straight into that workout, but i don’t regret one bit of having completed it as planned. it was heavy on my shoulders and my legs still feel the burn as i lay in bed, but the fact i pushed through is satisfying
doing an lunch hotpot and gaming get together with a few hamber buddies. i haven’t had the opportunity to chill with friends since i’ve had a hectic schedule. spent several hours catching up and gaming before i had to head out for skating and then a pregame warmup. i brought my favourites to the hotpot: fish tofu along with some fish balls, enoki and shirataki, but who shows up to a hotpot with carrot and celery sticks??
the gyms have been busy all week, but hopefully it dies down when the resolutioners can’t keep up. my eyes lit up when i saw a new chrome olympic bar sitting idle on the rack waiting for me. i see they finally decided to unwrap them from the boxes. both my workout and power skating class went well. the pain and discomfort is still there but recovery is there too. it’s wishful thinking, but i hope i am back to normal by the end of this month. it was a productive day with workout, power skating, working from home and then preparing for the week as it will be another busy week ahead
