day 1484 – overtiming

staying late at work to rush some drawings for stacy garcia meeting. workload has been a little overwhelming the last little while especially with manager away. it’s great that i’m stepping up to  take on more responsibility and that he’s shown more trust, but it comes more overtimes and frequent lunch breaks are not taken. it is exciting that i will have this collection tagged in my portfolio; who knew i’d be designing a whole line of casegoods? maybe this serves as the distraction away from decision making with the grandmaster

day 875 – nocturnal

image

doing my best work at 2am is not unlike me at all. at this hour, i am usually the most productive and that’s also when my creative juices flow more vividly. it’s a comparison between getting more stuff done in half an hour in the night time as opposed to five hours in the daytime. having a messed up body clock and being innately nocturnal doesn’t bother me but i know my liver doesn’t appreciate it, especially after being called out recently. there’s just less distractions to break the concentrations

day 529 – submission

image

at last, it is signed, sealed, stamped and ready for submission. it is time to send it off and hope for the best. technically two down, but still got work to do for all suppporting documents and can’t wait to be completely done with applications and get part of my life back in order. and i can only imagine how good life would be after i get through this long dreaded tunnel

day 524 – portfolio deadlines

image

it’s the final stretch of applications so really got to push through no matter how tired i am. a night of being productive in making more progress on portfolio and trying to contain my stress level and get everything seemingly under my control even when that’s impossible. just have to persuade myself exhaustion is only temporary and will get my much needed rest when it’s all over

day 520 – vertical circulation

image

another day working on my portfolio, a completely different kind of grind. i am on a mission to look for all types of vertical circulation. going places and taking pictures of all that might be useful for my project. it felt really uneasy when people gave me glares and must have thought i must be a weirdo stalker or have an obsession with escalators. i gotta do what needs to be done

day 508 – say hello

image

say hello to the new mini me enclosure model. it didn’t turn out as good as the big one and not the outcome i had expected. this little one took over two hours to cut and assemble but it was a little disappointing because the material was too brittle so some parts snapped along the way. in the end pretty much time used all for nothing, so back to original plan
