day 2413 – millie

this week didnt start off well and has felt off. i didn’t feel like going to work any day this week and been procrastinating on all my projects. also been consuming a lot more coffee than usually, sometimes more in the afternoon just to stay awake. i don’t like any interaction with millie, but i’d rather walk over and bug her while she sleeps instead of doing my work. maybe it’s a clear a sign i need a day off soon just to recoup

day 1874 – poke master

improvised poke bowl for family dinner limited to the ingredients readily available in the fridge. the main ingredients were salmon sashimi, beets corn, cilantro and some wasabi for the zing. it was really light, refreshing yet flavourful. i think my newfound favourite vegetable to be beets. i’ll try making more funky poke bowls next time and experiment with different ingredients

day 1806 – westcoast poke

it’s been months of hearing everyone rave about these poke bowls and now i jump on the freight train. went out to ironwood during lunch time to give westcoast a try. i built a bowl with a mixture of atlantic salmon and albacore tuna with spicy yuzu siracha and wasabi aioli. the siracha sauce had an interesting taste, the good kind of interesting. every time i drive by the westcoast poke, the little shop is packed with lineup out the door. these bowls are really good and refreshing, but they charge way more than how much it cost to make these. i’d get these more often if it was only less expensive
