day 1763 – strung racket

got my steam racket restrung, finally, and ready to hit some tennis balls. crazy that over the course of the idleness, it has lost twelve pounds of tension. i’m really looking forward to the prime time on the court now that the weather is getting really good. i forgot how much i love playing and watching this sport, and how it will always be one of my favourite childhood sports growing up. also looking forward to catching some local tournaments whenever possible

day 1694 – chashu ramen

mom’s yummy ramen for early dinner before playing volleyball. my life revolved around a lot of sports, but volleyball was never a focus sport for me. i last played it back in highschool and i don’t think my skills have declined since then. there’s no subbing out for us girls; so after an hour and a half of bump-set-spikes, my forearm was moderately discoloured. this will be a weekly activity playing in a league that rotates between multiple sports. i look forward to the variety of sports as well of the variety of people i come across

day 1684 – milky taro

the craving was there long ago, but this is actually my first taro bubble tea of the year and it was all in for the milky oreo taro slush. shared a kimchi fried rice but left the restaurant so full so worth it. it was also a fun social gathering of the civil war draft. as much as i wished for the sharks colour, i’m happy being in the golden ducks. both my ranking, scouting report was decent and being picked at where i was was good too. it’ll be a good season probably getting ice time playing multiple positions

day 1633 – planet ice me

friday night menu consisted of hockey and wings. started my first ever game as a defense which is something i’ll have to do more of. it seemed a little daunting at first but better after nervousness dissipated. the game at the blueline was pretty exhilarating because the game in action is seen in another light. it’s good opportunity to improve my two way game and prepare myself for what’s to come in the spring. made a few good outlets passes, back checks and just taking the stick. i realize i’m quite the gambler at the back end, perhaps i’m still figuring out positioning and angles. i’ll get a chance to work on those kinks through the course of the spring season
