day 2230 – squatting game

i laid off my clean and squat workout regime ever since i had to prepare for my test, so i thought i’d take whatever i could muster. i started with cleans but it didn’t feel strong with my sore hip flexors felt sore, i decided to cut it short and be spontaneous with the weights. i did back squats for doubles all the way up to one forty five – where i thought i’d stop. spontaneous and curious, i kept going for singles and increased it by 2.5 pounds as i felt okay. had there been a spotter, i would’ve gone for a second rep

day 2200 – morning nash

probably shouldn’t be working out doing the things i did, but i’m stubborn about it and it was worth trying. i took it down a notch for the cleans but even then it was giving my back problems. at that point, i was content with meeting the same squat weight as last week. this will be a weird week because my olympic lifting is temporarily switched thursday to give my back extra two days. was also suppose to have softball practice in the afternoon but got rained out. instead, i joined my family for dimsum, something my stomach is not too crazy about

day 2146 – rusty snatches

second apex workout since returning and i’m still trying really hard to get back to proper snatching. i’ll be the first to admit i’m pretty disappointed in the missed snatches that shouldn’t be missed. when the lifts appear to start out wrong, i give up on it far too early and clearly don’t try hard enough to save them. i was told off for doing so and smartened up after that. at least i made up for the lackluster lifts with some better back squats

day 1226 – car ironing

thinking about car tires all day because of expected snowfall in the city and the new tire regulations up sea to sky highway. good thing both problems are resolved. one, by stacking some plates in my trunk to the add weight to my car. it might not be much, but should still make it more grounded and a bit less susceptible to skidding. the second, confirmed that my mom’s car tire meets the regulations to get up whistler
