day 2379 – squatter problems

excited to be back at apex after three weeks of hiatus. i couldn’t be whiny with what i was told to do. instead of doing three reps of my paused squats, he changed it to five reps with the same weight. also did a clean wave and it felt pretty good enough to work up to the blues. not that i don’t want to do squats, i like squatting, but i also knew i needed to trick and play hockey tomorrow night. i know i’m in trouble when my legs are already jelly coming home from the gym. i jumped on the vyper for half an hour before i gave it a rest

day 2368 – beast kettlebells

what brentwood location needs is not one hundred and twenty one pound kettlebells, but simply ten pound bumper plates. in fact, they need to replace to whole set of bumper plates because it’s either nonexistent, missing, cracked or completely broken. i worked on heavy paused squats today and the weight didn’t feel like it was going to crush me. the same older gentleman i usually see there complimented on my squat form, gave me a few pointers hoping i could load the bar another ten pounds, and also tried to teach me how to low bar squat

day 2181 – pause squats

working those pause squats up to triples of 125 this week. pleasantly surprised myself, and my coach, that he suddenly decided to add a fourth set. the tech work and muscle snatches are really forcing me to get under quicker with my lock out and the pause at the bottom is helping me secure the catch better. i felt so strong and focused on all my lifts with no dropped snatches. the bonus is surpassing the pre-planned weight by a kilogram. i was so hyped after the session, i felt like i could continue to lift some more
