day 2503 – last of paris

a year ago was the last day touring around paris on our memorable europe trip. i could say i miss travelling and other activities, but i also don’t really miss the hectic ‘normal go go go’ life back then. covid has really changed a lot of what the norm is now – my life turned completely one eighty. it took a while to adjust to the pace, but i made the adjustment and don’t mind keeping it around longer. this could really steer my life in a different direction full of possibilities

day 2471 – alley freebie

another week of training done so i’ve made it to my weekly reward day. i hit up downtown alley for my birthday free drink. instead of my top favourite iron goddess, i went for a more exotic drink, the mango coconut lulu, and it didn’t disappoint. the tropical flavour was super refreshing on a hot day especially after a workout.  sometimes i worry i’ve fallen in love with this quarantine routine and pace; i’m not sure if i’m ready to go back to normal when it comes time

day 1726 – sun run fun

it was a gutsy decision to continue with the run, but i’m stubborn that way. i’m glad i put my third sun run in the books with my best run time yet. the near one hour mark was good for second with my company, only to be ousted by a forty-two minute avid runner. couldn’t have asked for a better weather as it was perfect when i began to rack up my steps. running with someone makes me stay motivated to continue pushing forward. no recovery time allowed since i had to work a belt test hours later covering the ten kilometres. now it’s time to hit up my physio so he can fix my knees and get it back to being functional

day 1619 – workshop sampling

img_20200130_2305038812482552284771597.jpgtaking a field trip next to door to icon workshop to inspect and watch the building of headboards. it’s been a really busy first week back at work. the pace of the first week has been immensely different than last year. behind those shades i’ve been quietly taking care of business getting plenty of work done managing the triage of work. for me, this could be the year filled with opportunities to step up and prove myself capable for the lead role

day 1515 – vachl debut

my legs hates me for pushing it so hard so often but here i am excited to be playing my first game with new vachl teammates. the bench was short but it was a lot fun and i made some good plays plus shots of goal. the game was fun and the pace is similar to what i’m used to so no big adjustments needed. i’m expecting myself to make great improvements this season and take my game to the next level. next game mental note to self i need to bring hockey socks, replenish hockey bag with tape supply, and find time to sharpen skates. it’s inexcusable i failed to have those necessities done for today

day 1459 – stick check

struggled in the first game after taking a stinger to the knee but after a short rest, i found my legs and played a very good second game. skating on the second line is was fun; i played up to the pace of my linemates, made good plays, received passes and even cycled in the offensive zone. i think i did many right things and positional hockey. it made me feel good when guys on the bench said i played it well, though after the second bout my legs cramped and kept me from falling asleep

day 1328 – medium roast

img_20200204_1819271751057657188338002.jpgthe work week started off crazy as anticipated; four projects deadlines on my list has me staying after hours. downed a few columbian medium roast to keep up the productivity level and make it through overtime. the pace has really picked up since switching over to different role, but it’s good to be busy. i’ll be back bright and early tomorrow and ready to push for the submission deadline

day 1307 – showroom

img_20200204_1758415968982951709021436.jpgback in the office after a non existent weekend where i spent majority of it working and coaching. weekly monday office meetings always has piles of sweets on sweets. this is the time when i am notorious for getting my daily dose of banana. showtimes are not optional no matter how busy, but it’s always entertaining. the pace and the workload has picked up significantly since the start of this month and that is a good sign

day 983 – spectating

image

i have watched a whack load of hockey through the decade, but never co-ed style. watching amateur hockey is very fascinating. the pace of it is nothing like what i am used to seeing, but it was entertaining in so many ways for it’s not just any other hockey game. the pace drops significantly when there’s a shift change. i laugh at the noobs, but it also makes me appreciate hockey more knowing the actual game is harder than it looks. kind of makes me want to give it a shot at some point when my schedule frees up and i can afford to take some risks.

twenties series: [eight] pace

it may sound strange coming from a person whose life runs at the speed similar to the highway traffic where park zones do not exist. i am just at a point in my life where all my commitments and deadlines are happening all at once, and no matter how fast i push myself, i can never fit everything into a my twenty four hour span. i hate to say that all my commitments may not even fit even if i was granted an additional two hours each day. i drive a bmw with a relatively powerful engine, if i was given a race caliber car, it would be scary scene to see how fast my life moves at when i step on that gas pedal. in the past month, i have been running on a full load and tight schedule based on an average of five hours of sleep per night. its a miracle that i am still functioning after several weeks but i am uncertain how long i will be able to hold up. some things has got to change or i won’t be able to keep up with this hectic and crazy lifestyle. with that said, life is not a race to the finish line, learn to slow it down and pace yourself. you will be glad you did because there are many rewards at every stage of life and chances are you may miss it if you speed through everything
