day 1634 Рcoachella

wasn’t intending on coaching this one but here i am early saturday morning. nine straight hours of taekwondo isn’t what i called for but at least i got to fit a hockey game in to close off the night. i was mad at myself for missing the net on the one timer off a nice feed. it was a good game overall and what matters is i’m having fun and hand is feeling just fine. i’ve never bounced off a guy to the point where i was knocked momentarily off the ice. this body will be very tired tomorrow after being physically tired for nineteen hours

day 1382 – off the post

dropped off my family for their flight to hong kong first thing, coached a morning of poomsae competition, and taught my usual taekwondo. ten hours without break before heading to my drop in game. playing drop in really cautiously so not to reaggravate my poor back and neck. surprisingly had a solid game on both ends of the ice with scoring chances, reading passes, and making back checks. i came really close but the goalie robbed me of a nice one timer. later, i had the goalie beat twice but only to have the post deny me both times. i will figure out way to find the back of the net again but overall happy with how my back responded – not worse than before the game

day 1317 – quadruple star

second playoff game in four days is ample of hockey for me this week. i was very reserved going into this game but that was all erased when i got my fourth star on this hat. i skated hard, scored my first career playoff goal and my nicest goal by far – a one timer without hesitation. took two bodychecks from my own teammate that knocked me to the ice; i’m sure i’ll feel them tomorrow. that’s enough late night for the week, i really need the sleep to heal up
