louder than words

i am beginning to fully understand what nike means when they say just do it. as my birthday approaches and soon i turn another year older, it’s one of those reflective moments where i look back and think of what i need to improve upon. all this time, there are many things i want to do and need to do but couldn’t do. in the past, i have put a lot of emphasis in thinking and planning for it but very seldom have i followed through with actions. it certainly took a lot longer than i would have liked but it’s never too late to understand; and i can’t be more happy to feel that things are starting to click inside my mind. knowing so, my mind and body must work together in order to make things happen and make changes towards my goals. it is time to search from within and find that power to will myself to put words into action. learning to take one thing at a time. actions speak louder than words so just go out there and prove it

day 639 – can-am demo

image

second year at can-am competition invited to demonstrate as part of the opening ceremony. no change to lots of waiting, standing around and listening to speeches, but what changed is we weren’t second last team in the program. another demo completed, another thing off my plate, and now i can finally focus on training for the competition that’s been on my mind for weeks and months. mind you there’s only one week left until the big day and i don’t feel nearly as ready as i should be

day 636 – them weights

quads are nothing short of sore from yesterday’s physio appointment, but needed to get some work in. picking up weights again after a long stretch of holding off and focusing on more important things at hand. not impressed with how much strength and stability i have lost, but all i can do at the moment is put the slide to a halt. the regaining process won’t happen until after my lineup of commitments are complete because i have learned to focus on one thing at time. next up, us world open competition

day 628 – and so it begins

just as i had imagined, competition training gets real immediately after the completion of sun run. despite my body feeling good after the race, something tells me my groin is unhappy since it popped a total of eighteen times today – yes i was counting. i’ll let me physio take care of my groin and whatever other problems that may have arised from running that fundraiser. but the training plan doesn’t change, so here i am starting off with some much needed stretching because four weeks of minimal stretching and laziness has caused my splits to diminish
